Names & Origin
It sounds like there's an audition and Laura is the voice actor of a character called... Clara Rossinol?
'Rossinol' translates to 'nightingale' in French, so her name is literally Laura Nightingale.

The name could be a reference to Laura's career and the wand she seems to be holding could be where her akuma is.
Costume and Akumas
I'm just wondering why her akuma outfit is like that - usually, they reflect their powers. She could be akumatised because of costumes (maybe by Chloe?) or pressured by someone else like a manager that she really needs to do something to boost her popularity?
I think it's most likely to do with the popularity part and her career. Say the show was not going so well and she's under stress? Her villain name is 'Rossignoble', which relates to a nightingale. Nightingales at birds that are good at singing, I think, and are quite small and nimble.
Her outfit as an akuma has bits hag resemble stars - her chest and her hair ties. Stars make me think the reason she gets akumatised is to do with her career.
Observations:
Gabriel is mentioned and is to do something with promoting his clothing line. He has designed Clara's costume for a show, which Adrien is going to participate in. Clara also seems to admire Adrien. The show involves their alter-egos: Tikki asks Marinette whether she's going for the role of Ladybug. It's a big opportunity and probably a big show, given Laura's popularity, and from what Gabriel said.
My conclusion:
It's a big show that Alec is running, perhaps a musical or a song and costume dedicated to the superheroes.
They need costumes - this is where Gabriel comes in. They need people to audition. Since Laura admires Adrien's success in advertising, etc., he can help. So Adrien and his friends are gong to audition.
Marinette isn't too keen on the idea. Alya knows that, but she knows it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and convinced her BFF to take the chance.
I bet you, Marinette will get Ladybug anyways.
Luka could very well come in for the music side. And Chloe probably fancies herself as Ladybug. She'll probably try and get "my Daddy, the Mayor" to buy her way in. Or she could be included because of Adrien.
