Aisha's POV

I don't like basketball but I have to do this for Layla, she comes here just to check on sulayman but lies to everyone even herself that basketball is the best game in the world.

I am pissed just sitting here and not understanding why grown up guys have to run after a ball to be thrown in a net. All ball games piss me off.

I observe Layla watching with acute interest, I poked her laps just to distract her and she gave me some piece of her mind.

I chuckled, I love to annoy her sometimes.

Layla is my close friend, she's the sister I never had. She's the middle child. She has an elder brother ridwan and a cute younger sister deliyah. Ridwan is my very own crush but not within grasp, he's busy managing his dad's small company and getting engaged soon. So it's like nothing.

Layla knows I have a thing for her brother but I totally deny it every time.

I love going to layla's home on Saturday evening to get a glimpse of ridwan. she would catch me a number of times, but I would shook my head in a serious total denial.

Once, I went to layla's home on that Saturday just to check on her and probably to get a chance to say hi to ridwan. Yusuf uncle was the one who opened the door for me. After saying my teslim I walked down the passage to the living room, I could hear ridwan's voice.

He's on a call with someone. His voice is so manly and broad, it can surely attract even bees.

I got to the living room to sit as shyness overtook me, his voice is so audible now and I can deduce he's talking to his ummi. I tried not to eavesdrop as it is not allowed in my religion.

I took out my phone and texted Layla as I rested my small purse on the sofa.

Me: I am in the living room doll.

BFF: so what? Come upstairs.

Me: I can't, ridwan is standing close to the stairs. I am shy!

BFF: you are kidding me, the last person I know in this world to be shy wouldn't even be you! Try harder. Dhor........

Me: just come down silly.

BFF: trust me I won't and I bet you, bhaiya is staying there for long #tongues out.

Me: you are not the girl I used to know, where did this cruelty come from? I will be right there anyways.

BFF: suit yourself miss shy #lol.

I screamed in my head as I dropped my phone on the sofa and headed for the staircase. I was putting on a purple top and blue jean trousers but it felt like my legs were stuck in a tight skirt.

I got closer to him."Asalam alaykum" I say in a low tone.

"walaykum salam" he replied in a coarse voice then turned slightly to wave at me returning back to his call.

I ascended the stairs gently and took a relief breath when I got to the top which took me like a 100hours to ascend.

"Woooooooooooo I made it" I took in a relief breath.

I tiptoed opening layla's door quietly to play a fast one on her, she is on the bed typing out her project assignment on her laptop with her back to me.

I tried gently but got caught when deliyah shouted.

"Didi" she ran towards me hugging my leg. Layla turned and laughed loudly when she saw the disappointment look I wore.

I carried deliyah on my laps after sitting on the little stool.

"Walaykum Salam to you too" layla said in between her laughter.
