Chapter 29: A special surprise

The last time I came inside this very building for a party was on Christmas because my parents' company always do their celebrations here. Even if this building is only one of their branches in the MAG Food Company, it's very well known for being used for all of the company's celebrations. Earlier in the morning today, I received a message from my parents saying that Zach and I had to attend this very party tonight. They found out we were close to the city, so they decided to send out the invitation for us to go there even if we would've ended up going if we weren't in isolation because my parents were my parents. This is because this party is the biggest celebration yet and that is because it's the 20th anniversary for the MAG Food Company. 

I knew that I just had to bring Hailey with me because I want her to meet my parents. The good thing of these parties is the fact that there's more dancing than boring speeches like other company parties I've been to. When we arrived at the building, I had to drag Hailey inside because she just stood there speechless. I smiled as we entered the building and I couldn't help but go on a trance because of how beautiful Hailey looked tonight. She always looks beautiful, but tonight she looks even better with her white dress. I told her that it wasn't a fancy party so there was no need for a long dress, so she just went for a formal short dress that made her look really good. 

"Are there going to be many people?" she asked and I snapped out of my deep thoughts

"Yes, there are going to be many people because this is the biggest celebration yet for the company" I said and she looked at me with a confused expression

"What's the company celebrating?" she asked curiously and we just made it to the elevator. I pressed the "Up" button and now it was just a matter of time before we arrive at the party. We were arriving later than usual, which would explain the fact that there weren't any people in the main floor

"Their 20th anniversary" I replied and she sighed nervously

"Oh" she looked so nervous now that I intertwined my hand with hers to assure her that there was no need to feel so nervous

"Don't get nervous, princess, everything's going to be fine and I promise you that we're going to have a good time. My parents are very excited to meet you" I let out a small smile and the elevator just opened its doors. We entered the elevator and I pressed the top floor button before looking at Hailey again, who looked so nervous that she started trembling

"What? I'm meeting your parents too? No, I'm sorry, Bryce. I just can't. I change my mind, take me back to the house" she started shaking her head and I put my hands on her shoulders so she looks at me in the eye

"Hey, it's going to be fine and don't get so worked up about it. We can stay there for a little while and if you still feel uncomfortable then we can leave" I said in assurance and I noticed that her eyes held so much emotion right now that I got lost looking at her sky blue eyes

"You promise?" she mumbled and I let out a small smile at how adorable she looked right now

"I promise" I said and the elevator went to a complete stop causing Hailey to jump in surprise
