Esmeralda had had trouble sleeping. She thought that now, her being near eighty years old, sleeping would come easy. However, she had been mistaken.

She tossed and turned, did breathing excersises, anything that might help her lose her insomnia. She walked to the kitchen, poured herself a glass of water, went back to bed. She read a few pages, but that did not help. She glanced at the clock. 3:00, it read.

Starting to get frustrated, Esmeralda went to her house phone and dialed a number.

"Hello?" said the groggy voice on the other side of the phone.

Esmeralda said nothing. Instead she went to bed, finally falling into a deep slumber.

Who did she call and why?
