It's a match!
The dating website's notification bounced around Jane's cellphone screen. She squealed with delight-maybe she won't die alone after all. She opened up the site to check who had matched with her; His name was Lawrence, and he was perfect. A few seconds later she received a message from him:
Hey ;)
She and Lawrence spoke well into the evening, and they just seemed to click. They set up a meeting for their first date, which would take place at a fancy five-star restaurant in town. It was really romantic and they loved each other's company. It was coup-de-foudre, love at first sight. The immediately planned their second date.
Lawrence put a lot of effort into this one; they were going to have a quaint picnic in the heavily wooded area just outside the park. That afternoon, Jane and Lawrence got to know each other more as they enjoyed sparkling wine and petite sandwiches while the summer sun warmed their skin. After a while, the heat and the food made them sleepy and they fell asleep in each other's arms.
But, they never woke up. Much like the story of Romeo and Juliet, after knowing each other for a very limited time, they died together.
