35 - Friend

I woke up already laying on a hospital bed. I saw Daniel's mom was holding my hand tightly as she sat beside my bed.

"Mom," I said weakly.

"Baby, you awake?" she gasped when she heard my voice.

Everyone came to my bed when they heard that I was awake.

"Hhh. just how many times I made everyone worried about me," I sighed in my mind.

Everyone sighed relief when the doctor said that I was fine after he checked on me. I only got a few minor scratches from the beating, and nothing serious, thankfully.

"See? I told you those teeny tiny girls can't take me down. I probably fainted because I was too excited. I'm not really good at channeling too many emotions," I joked as I wiped the tears from Daniel's Mom's cheeks.

"Mom. You knew?" Daniel asked suddenly.

"Oh Crap!" I cursed inside when I realized that I wasn't supposed to reveal that.

I saw everyone were so stiff as they're looking at me and Daniel's mom, waiting for some answers.

"I-I-It's not her fault guys, I asked her to ...," I said but stopped when someone opened the door.

My eyes shot opened when I saw my headmaster brought Kaitlyn inside the room.

"Headmaster, what is she doing here?" I asked annoyed when they came to my bed.

"I'm sorry for doing this, but I think it's better for you to hear it from her directly," the headmaster said as she patted my shoulder.

"Let's give them some space," the headmaster said as she asked everyone to follow her.

Third person P.O.V

"There's something that I need to tell you. So Kaitlyn, or Catherine as we used to call her, she gave me the videos that I played earlier," the headmaster said in front of the room.

"What?" Daniel's mom asked confused.

"So apparently, after she moved from our school, she became very cautious towards bullies. She paid some of her friends to record every single thing that happened to her secretly," the headmaster explained.

"So why didn't she tell anyone about the video when they're being questioned that day? Why did she let my daughter got expelled if she had a clear proof in her hands?" your mom asked tearful.

"She originally planned to use the videos to protect herself in case something happened to her. So when Jessie offered her safety, in return to her silence, she didn't see the need to turn in the video. She's afraid that things would get messy for her if she did," she explained.

Everyone was angered.

"So what made her changed her mind?" Daniel's mom asked.

"She said that she felt like a bully when she helped Jessie, Jojo, and the gang to trap (y/n) in the restroom earlier," she explained.

"Jojo?" Daniel asked confused.

"Yeah. After the announcement, she gave me the full video where Jojo and some girls from our school could be seen involved in the beating earlier. She cut their part from the first video that she gave me, because she's afraid that it would jeopardize our school name if they're also captured in it," she continued.

"BULLSHIT!" your voice could be heard from outside the room.

Everyone hurriedly rushed inside.

End of Third person P.O.V

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I was just trying to protect myself," Kaitlyn said as she grabbed my hand.

"Nothing will justify what you did!" I yelled as I yanked her hands. "I thought we're friends. After all this time I even still denying that you betrayed me. You know what? You're even worse than a bully!" I yelled as I cried, it hurts.

"No, I'm a good and rightful person. The proof is, I gave the videos to your headmaster. If not because of them, you wouldn't be able to clear your name and save your school from being suspended. You should be thanking me," Kaitlyn said cockily.

I was so mad, I wanna slap her. But I couldn't, because I knew that she's right. I couldn't have resolved the problem without her help.

"Please. Just get out of my room," I said weakly before I planted my head on my knees as I hugged my feet.

I felt so defeated and embarrassed.

"Alright. That's enough. She doesn't need to thank you for anything. I already got my own tricks up my sleeves to clear her name and protect my school, even if you didn't give me the videos. Ah, and let me tell you something, a good and rightful person would never do what you did. So don't get ahead of yourself, kiddo," I heard the headmaster said.

Then I looked up when I felt someone stroked my hair.

"I'm so sorry (y/n). She looked so desperate when she begged me to meet you. I didn't think that she'd use this opportunity to speak nonsense. Get well soon (y/n), and thank you for bringing home the win for our school. You too guys, nice work," the headmaster said before dragged Kaitlyn out of the room.

"I'm sorry guys, could you please give me a moment? I wanna be on my own," I said as I hugged my feet tightly.

I couldn't handle my emotions. I just wanna be alone to process everything. And I didn't wanna make them worry than they already had.

"I'll stay with you," Daniel said as he sat beside my bed while stroking my hair.

"I'm sorry. But I wanna be alone, please," I pleaded.

I saw a jolt of disappointment in his eyes.

"Fine. I should've known. You don't trust anyone," he said coldly as he got up.

"That's not what I mean. I'm sorry. Please don't leave like this," I begged as I grabbed his hands.

"Why? You told me to leave. Besides, you seem to be really good at taking care of yourself. So don't mind me. Goodbye," he said as he removed his hands from mine then excused himself before storming out of the room.

"Daniel! Please!" I called him but he didn't look back.

"We'll go and talk to him. Don't worry," the boys said before they left.

My family also got out to take care of the registration because the doctor said that I could go home.

My heart was breaking when I saw the disappointment in their eyes.

"It's gonna be okay. They're just worried about you," Daniel's mom said as she sat beside me. "Actually, they're also mad at me, for not telling them that you're hurt," she said gloomy.

"I'm so sorry Mom. This is all my fault," I said as I cried harder.

"No no no. It's not your fault," she said as she patted my back.

"Mom, I'm gonna go and apologize to everyone, especially Daniel," I said suddenly after I finished crying.

"Are you sure? It must be scary though. Especially my son. He's hella scary when he's mad. I don't even wanna go home tonight," Daniel's mom said as she covered her face totally frightened.
