Chapter 13

Savannah

   We were sitting in silence for about five minutes and I was about to explode! I can't take the silence!

   "Alright! I can't take it anymore!" I yelled. I looked over at Xavier, his eyes were focused on the road. He looked amused from my sudden outburst.

   "What?" he asked.

   "The silence!" I yelled. He looked as if he was being entertained by my anger.

   "You look sexy when you're angry," he said. Adding more fuel to the fire burning inside me. I ground and tried to hide my blush.

   "Is it really that easy for me to make you blush?" he laughed. I glared at him.

   "Don't look at me like that, babe, or else you're face will get stuck like that forever," he said. Ignoring his little statement, I tried to change the topic.

   "Let's play 20 questions to get to know each other... My way!" I exclaimed. "We have to ask questions to one another and the other person answers. After that person answers, the person who asked the person first answers the question as well. So, at the same time we both get to know a little about each other," I said.

   "Sounds confusing, but I'll play anyways," he stated.

   "Yaaaaaaay," I cheered. "Me first?" He nodded.

    "Favorite color?" I asked.

    "Blue," he answered.

     "Same here, except I prefer turquoise a little more," I said. "Your turn!"

    "I'll keep that in mind," he added. I laughed.

    "Your turn," I exclaimed.

    "Okay, ummm, favorite animal?" he asked. I grinned.

    "I don't know why, but I love elephants," I answered. "I like a lot of safari animals as well like cheetahs, but elephants beat them all," I added.

    "For me, I like wolves," he answered. I rolled my eyes.

    "Wonder why..." I added. He laughed at this.

    "Okay, okay, I like jaguars the most," he answered.

    "Nice." We carried on like this for the next 25 minutes. He told me that it took about half an hour to get there, so we had about five minutes. I got to know a lot of things about him.

    "I think it's our turn," he said. Taking me out of my thoughts.

    "Oh sorry," I laughed. "Ummm, if tomorrow was the last day to live, what would you to do?" I asked. He looked confused, so I went on.

    "See, like, I would want to learn how to skydive. I've never done it before," I said.

    "You're a very daring and risky girl, I see," he laughed.

    "Yeah, well, daring is my middle name," I laughed. "So, tell me."

    "I would want to.... take you out on a date," he said. I was surprised that he said this.

    "Would you like to go on a date with me?" he asked. I knew he was nervous by asking me this question. He was afraid that I may deny his request. He looked so cute when he was nervous. Savannah! Get a grip! We were parked in front of the pack mansion. I took a deep breathe to tell him my answer when I heard-

    "Annah!!" I saw Hunter running up to the car. I got out and picked him up, we were hugging each other like this for I don't know how long we stood there like that. My mom came out with my dad and they had the biggest grins on their faces. I had a questioned look on my face and they could read my expression and said, "Savannah, meet your younger brother, Hunter!"

   I was dumbstruck. Then I screamed. "Oh My God! Hunter! You're my brother know!!! We adopted you!!!! Oh My God!!! We're going to have so much fun!!!"

   The whole time, Hunter was giving me a cheeky smile. I kissed both his cheeks. Everyone was smiling, nothing was nothing that could ruin my day!

   'I'll answer your question later,' I smirked while using our mind link.

   ‘Alright,’ he said. He walked inside the pack mansion and we followed one by one. Everyone was ordered to sit in the lounge. I knew that there was some important news. I could smell the tension in the air. Caden came just in time. He sat right next to me on my left while Hunter was on the right.

   ‘Hey, we finally adopted Hunter!’ I exclaimed to Caden. He looked at me and smiled. Then, he looked right into Hunter’s eyes and said, “Hey, lil’ bro.’

   ‘Hi,’ he smiled and went over to give Caden a hug. My heart was so happy to see their bond.

   “Okay, the reason I brought you all here is because I want Caden to be my other beta along with Logan. Will you accept my offer, Caden?” He said. I gasped and looked at Caden. This was a big deal. My brother was going to be the other beta. I nodded at Caden and smiled.

   “I am honored for you to make me your beta,” he said. They did the little ceremony and Xavier inducted Caden. Wow! My brother was the beta. I was totally surprised that Xavier started trusting Caden so easily.

   My brother bowed to Xavier to show the respect he had for him. Everyone clapped and congratulated him. Dad pat Caden’s back and congratulated him. When everyone was settled, my dad spoke up.

   “I have something to tell Caden, Savannah, and Hunter,” he said. He looked at all three of his. I could see a sad expression on his face. I knew this was bad news. “We all really thought hard about this and we came up to the decision that your mother and I... are, we’re...”

  “What is it, dad?” I asked.

   “We’re going to go on a mission,” my mom said. I was confused.

  “A mission?” I said, my brow raised up.

   “What your mother is trying to say is that, we have to leave for about three weeks to track down the rogues. We’re going to put an end to this. We can’t put Savannah in danger anymore. Plus we’re in the New Moon pack, the biggest and most powerful pack in the Northern Hemisphere. We can do it, honey,” he said.

   My eyes popped out and I stood up so fast. I couldn’t believe this. We just moved here and my mom and dad were leaving for three weeks. This was all my fault. What about Hunter? Where were we going to live until then? What if they got hurt? Questions were swimming in my head. My head was throbbing...
