Chapter 48

I don't know the whole story of the scene I am witnessing right now. Though, I have a conclusion of this melodramatic scene.

Lazaro Ongcuanco is one hell of a jerkass. Ang kapal ng mukha niyang magpakita dito at itigil ang pre-marriage when in fact, he was the one who left his family.

He's selfish. Maybe he already realized his ex-wife's worth that's why he's here objecting like he has a right.

"Lazaro!" yun lamang ang narinig ko mula kay Tita Sarah na ngayo'y gulat na gulat.

Looking at Tita Sarah, I couldn't see any anger in her eyes though I could see the sadness on her face. I looked at Papa's now mad expression while looking at Lazaro.

"What are you doing here!?" Papa roared walking towards Lazaro.

"I am objecting 'cause you're marrying my wife! Your honor, Sarahpiel Ongcuanco is my legal wife, and if you're not paid, hindi mangyayari ang pre-marriage na ito dahil wala pa 'kong pinipirmahang divorce paper!" asik ni Lazaro.

Nanlaki ang mata ko. Mas lalong lumakas ang bulong-bulongan. All of us were shocked by the sudden news. An old sophisticated woman stepped forward proclaiming that she has the authority in this marriage.

"How dare you, Lazaro!" giit ng matanda.

Lazaro looked softly at the old woman, "Mama, I came back for Sarahpiel."

"Get out you bastard!" singhal nito at poot na poot na tinignan si Lazaro.

Lumapit si Sarah sa matanda, "Umalis kana dito, Lazaro! Stop bothering us! Wala kanang asawa! Matagal na tayong hiwalay!" she said with spite and I could see her tears in her eyes.

"No! I want us to talk, honey. Please, I realized I couldn't let you marry anyone else..." he pleaded with tears.

Naikuyom ko ang kamay ko. I hate to feel pity for him, now that I could fucking see Castielle on his father while pleading. It's almost like watching Castielle plead with tears for someone he will love, but not me.

Napatingin ako kay Castielle na ngayo'y dinadaluhan ang kaniyang Ama kasama ang kaniyang mga kapatid. It was almost like a family reunion, like what Castielle really wants to happen.

I stepped forward. Letting go of Jackson's hand to go to my father who's now trembling because of anger. Sheun and Jeiko were there to stop my father from attacking Lazaro.

"She's mine now, Lazaro! Get back to where you came from!" singhal ni Papa.

Tuloyan ng umiyak si Tita Sarah. I could see pain her eyes while watching Lazaro.

"Security!" tawag ni Papa.

Nang makalapit ako sa kay Papa ay kaagad ko siyang hinawakan. Saglit siyang tumingin ngunit kaagad kong nakita ang sakit sa mga mata niya, kaya gusto kong maiyak rin.

When I looked in front, nagkatinginan kami ni Castielle. His eyes are dark and his brows are furrowed but I could see the pity in his eyes.

Is this what you want? Ito na ba ang kanilang plano? Ang pigilan ang kasal? Sinamaan ko ng tingin si Castielle. Tonight, I'm not seeing you the way I see you before, because tonight you will be my enemy.

"Sarah..." Lazaro called out pleading again, trying to reach her kung hindi lamang siya pinigilan ng mga sekyu, but Castielle interfered.

"Let him go!" singhal ni Castielle.

"Castielle Angelo, do you know this!?" umalingaw-ngaw ang boses ni Tita Sarah maging ang galit na mga tanong ng matandang babae.

Napatungo siya, "I know this, Mom. And I support Dad on this..." he said.
