I stared off through the window of the taxy cab, leaning my head onto it. It was about six in the afternoon, we were taking a cab to the apartment Calum and Samantha had bought so we could see it. My head was deffienetely better, since I had slept almost the entire afternoon. The ride lasted for a good fifteen minutes, before it stopped with a shreek in front of a tall building. It seemed relatively new and friendly. Calum lead us in, we took the elevator to the fourth floor, where the flat was located. I turned my attention to every single detail. It seemed somehow pleasant, the hallways were neat and had detail, for example flowers or paintings, it really pulled everything together.

"Classy" Jenna took the words right out of my mouth.

"Wait until you see the actual apartment" Calum smirked, pulling his keys out of his front pocket and slowly unlocking the door. He pushed it open with one hand and gestured for us to come in with the other. I grinned at him trying to act like a gentleman.

As I entered, the first thing I noticed was the size of the living room. It was a little too big for just the two of them, if you ask me. But the interior was just as nice as the exterior. It had a sort of peaceful look to it. The walls were a soothing peachy color and there were two large windows that really opened it up. There was still very little furniture, just a couch, two armchairs and a coffee table. Sure there was still work to be done, but I really liked the apartment. After a quick tour, I couldn't help but notice all the rooms were pretty large.

"I love this place" I exclaimed in awe after Sam had finished showing us around "But why do all of you need such big apartments?" I hinted at Julie and Ashton as well.

"Well unlike you two" Calum shrugged "Some of us need more space to-"

"Calum" the girls barked.

He raised his hands up in surrender, with a counfused look "Ourselves" he exclaimed "Some of us need more space to ourselves"

He couldn't help but laugh at our expressions. Something still tells me that isn't what he wanted to say though, but I laughed it off.

We all made ourselves comfortable, taking a seat on the couch or the airmchairs, or pulling up a chair from the kitchen. We wished Cal and Sam all the best with their new apartment. The two of them made a great couple and, honestly, I've never even seen them fight once. Which is incredible and probably impossible. They've probably just never had any drastic arguments. Still, they seem to work it out pretty quickly and all on their own and they seemed really in love with eachother. How could you not want them to be happy?

I flinched at one second. There was something in the air and it wasn't good. My heart rate quickened. Smoke. I looked around and no one seemed to be noticing, or at least they weren't showing it.

"I hope you guys are cooking something" I managed to say, but my voice came out a little hoarse "Because something's burning"

I had really hoped they just forgot they left a dish in the oven or on the stove. The look on Sams face, the confusion in her eyes just confirmed my suspicions. My heart started beating out of my chest, I felt panic taking over.

"You're right" Julie stood up from the couch, rushing towards the window. She quickly opened it and leaned over the window frame. As if shocked, she slowly turned back to us. Worry and fear reflecting in her eyes, as she calmly explained what was going on.

"There's fire" she said carefully, she was so collected, it really surprised me. I glued my eyes shut. This is what I was afraid of. Panic was taking over, what do I do?

No one dared to speak as Julie further explained the situation. Apparently, the fire was right on the floor underneath us, there was no way out.

I felt helpless, hopeless. I wanted to cry. I wanted to wake up from this horrible nightmare. I forced myself to open my eyes, which were now wet as I fought back my tears. Everyone was stumped, scared. Simply, helpless.
