Chapter Five

We walked into the packhouse and I couldn’t help but have a flashback of my dad bringing me to Red Moon’s packhouse, abandoning me, my heart started beating faster and I started hyperventilating then I felt Aiden and Ethan at my sides, holding me and giving me the comfort I needed, I took a deep breath and continued walking with my back straight and chin up. I didn’t break all these years and I’m not starting now.
We walked up the stairs to a door and I could feel a presence in my head getting restless which started making me antsy but I shrugged it off. Beta Daniel knocked and we heard a loud “enter” so he opened the door and we went in. the scent hit me again full on and I snapped my head up and just one word came to my mind, MATE.
The mother goddess gave me a second chance what are the odds? But would he act like Blake? I decided to keep quiet and see what he would do, surely he was aware we are mates. I noticed his and beta Daniels eyes were glazed, probably telling him what I said. When they came back to us, the alpha was fuming with anger, I got scared and shrinked back into the twins, he noticed and took a deep breath to calm down. “My name is Jackson, you’re welcome to the Royal Lake Pack. Can you boys excuse us please?” without hesitation the beta and gammas left the office. The alpha stared at me for a while as his eyes flashed between his usual gray to a deep amber as he kept taking deep breaths then he said through clenched teeth “Mate”. I had started to whimper, it seemed he had more anger issues than Blake, what have I gotten myself into? Quickly his eyes settled back on gray and said in a pleading tone “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to frighten you, I was just trying to stop my wolf from claiming you”
“Claiming me? Does that mean you want me as your mate? You accept me?” I asked in a bewildered tone.
His brows furrowed as he replied “of course I accept you. You’re my soulmate the one person made for me, goddess, you’re even prettier than I have ever imagined”. I could feel my cheeks begin to color, then he asked “do you accept me?” I nodded fervently, my cheeks still pink.
He grinned widely, “well welcome to the Royal Lake pack, we’ll have a welcoming and initiation ceremony for you this evening, if its cool with you?” I was taken aback with how smooth my life seemed to be going then my lips tilted in a wide grin and I nodded enthusiastically.
“The boys would show you to your room, they should be right outside the door trying to eavesdrop” and truthfully as I opened the door Aiden and Ethan fell into the office “is there a problem boys?” “no ma’am” “good, now who’s showing me to my room?” the boys stumbled into themselves trying to be the first one to lead me. It was quite amusing.
When I got to my room I understood the meaning of gobsmacked, the boys left immediately I entered so I was free to look stupid as I wandered the room. The room was huge, like I could fit my previous bedroom in the bathroom alone kind of huge. I quickly entered the bathroom for a quick shower.
Coming out I was stunned to meet a girl in the room rummaging through the wardrobe “um excuse me?”
She whirled around to face me “oh Luna, I’m so sorry, didn’t Daniel tell you I was coming here?”
I shook my head and she tutted “damn, that dimwit. Well, my name is Isabella, you can call me Isa and it’s so nice to meet my Luna” “How did you know that?” I asked, completely creeped out.
“Oh Jax sent a mind link to everyone in the pack about you and told guys to stay away from you”. I raised my brow in contemplation “not to be rude Isa but why are you in my room, looking through my wardrobe?”
“To take you shopping” she said in excitement. God this girl was just a ball of fucking sunshine, how does she do it, I kept looking at her like she was an alien and replied her “but I don’t like shopping”. She laughed “good thing I didn’t ask for your opinion cos you’re going”. This time, both my brows shot up at the balls on this girl.
So here I am, in the mall, being dragged everywhere by Isa who has an unbelievable supply of energy plus back up cos we’ve been here for 3 hours and she’s not showing signs of stopping. Somebody, anybody, save meeee.
Thankfully Isa pitied me and we drove back home with absolutely no silence cos that girl loves to talk, I didn’t mind it though, I could see her becoming a close friend.
When we got home, I started arranging each cloth in my closet when Isa walked inside and asked “what are you doing?”, I looked at her confused “um, arranging my clothes?” “shouldn’t you be getting ready for the ceremony?” and that was it. She sent me to the bathroom to bath while she picked out my dress and shoes, then she dressed me up, made me look damn good then we went for the ceremony. And as I was being introduced to the pack and their new member and Luna, I couldn’t help but thank the goddess for where she led me.
