“Achi, you’ll be sleeping with me later. Achi Alysh is on a business trip. She won’t be coming home until next week,” Almira said. We were on the Tengs’ living room.

“Are you sure okay lang na nandito ako? Baka po nakakistorbo ako sa inyo dito?” I told Amira and Tita Susan who are with me.

“Of course! I’ve been nagging Jeric about bringing you here for a sleepover para naman maalagaan kita. At wala naman akong ginagawa dito sa bahay,” Tita Susan said with her motherly tone.

“Thank you, Tita,” I smiled at her.

“Don’t worry, Achi. I’m here naman. You won’t get bored,” Almira said.

“Mabuti nga at nandito ka. Alvin told me that Jeric’s been very busy these past few days. He’s leaving you home alone. Sana dito ka na lang muna samin para may kasama ka naman,” Tita Susan ranted as she took a sip of her tea.

“May kasama naman po ako sa unit. But I’m kind of worried about Jeric, Tita. He’s working too hard. He doesn’t have time for himself anymore,” I truthfully related to Tita.

“That’s what his Dad said,” Tita Susan commented.

“He’s just preparing for Jenna, Achi. Don’t worry kayang-kaya yan ni Ahia,” Almira added.

“But I can’t help myself from feeling guilty,” I told them.

“Huwag mo ng isipin yan, hija. I’m proud of my son,” TIta said. After catching up, Tita let me rest for a while. And Almira went to school.

The Tengs were very welcoming and nice. They treated as part of the family, even if it’s not official. Almira was her usual bubbly self who never fails to entertain me. Everybody was so accommodating. But my heart still feels heavy. This is the first time I’ve been away from Jeric for this long. I know it’s not that long but it feels like it. When he’s here, I barely see him.

I miss him but I know I have to do my part. If he’s working so hard for us, I won’t make it harder for him. I will try to support him in every way.

I was busy over loom bracelets when my phone lit up. My phone showed Jeric’s face. I swiped it open.

“Hey,” I slowly answered. It’s the second day of his TVC shoot in Batangas.

“Why do you sound so sad?” he immediately asked.

“I’m not sad,” I told him.

“Then what’s wrong?” he asked worriedly on the other line.

“Nothing, Jec. How are you? How’s the shoot?” I tried to change the subject.
