As a proud Filipino-American, AudreyEve is an advocate for diversity within mainstream media, including stories on Wattpad. Tired of seeing the same fair-skinned, blue-eyed girl in all the stories she was reading, Audrey began including Filipino leading ladies in all her books. But this category isn't just about diverse ethnicities and heritage, this is about the inclusion of ALL walks of life that make our planet truly beautiful!

» MENTAL ILLNESS «

Being honest and open about mental illness is the first step to healing. While this topic is deemed taboo, it is a very real and very serious issue. This special accolade will be given to an author who has designed a character who is dealing with mental health. Whether he or she is discovering their illness for the first time, or has lived a full life without relapse, this is an inspiring character who takes an audience on a journey of recovery.

Mental Illnesses include Clinical Depression, OCD, Substance Abuse, Anorexia-Nervosa, etc.

» DEVELOPMENTAL / PHYSICAL DISABILITY & ILLNESS «

Not every hero is perfectly healthy. This award will go to an author who has created a character with either a mental / physical disability or life-altering sickness. Some ailments are invisible, and some are blatant, like a wheelchair or canula. This is a character motivated to pave their life in the most absolute way, despite their impairment. 

Developmental Disabilities include Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, etc.
Physical Disabilities include Missing Appendages, Blindness, Deafness, etc.
Physical Illness include Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes, etc.
