"Funmi is that you ?"

"Yes na"

"Haa funmi o ma ti di sisi (you're now a lady)" she blushed " where's mumsi"

"She's upstairs"

"Ok let's go. Help me carry this bag " she did

Climbing this stairs has always been my main problem. They live on the Last floor which is the third floor. I was wearing hill so imagine how it is.

When we got inside. I went to meet Mummy in the Kitchen, I knelt down on both legs and greeted her " Good afternoon ma"

"Ha ha ha ha. Anuoluwapo. How are you. How is your mom. Iya Iya eh KO ?" (she asked of her sister who happens to be my grandma)

"They're are fine ma, they send their greetings. Daddy nko?" I asked of her husband also

"He has gone out but don't worry he'll be back soon. Come let's go and thank  God for your safe journey” she said leading me out of the kitchen to the living room

We all know mummy Abuja to be a prayer warrior. Any time I want to call her. I always make sure I have enough  airtime because she'll spend the first twenty five minutes praying before she goes to the point

We thanked God  for the safe journey and his blessing upon us. After the prayer, it was time to eat. Daddy was already back. Mummy prepared her correct Egusi elemi meje with Eba

"Mummy. How is uncle Seun uncle Tunde and uncle Segun and their wives" I asked  about her sons as we were eating. Funmi is her only daughter

"They're fine . You know Seun is in Uk now and did your mummy tell you that Tunde has been transferred to Niger" she informed me

"Yes she did " we ate quietly until Mummy said "Funmi have you arranged the guest room?”

Before Funmi could answer I did
"Ha mummy. I'm not staying here. I'm staying at my friends place"

"Why " she asked

"You know as part of the brides maid, I have to be with her throughout" I tried to explain

"But you can sleep here , then you'll be going to her place. Eyen nko(how about that ). Where's that your friend living?

"Gwarimpa. And again mummy its not that easy. Just let me stay there, don't worry, I would still come back"

"Iya Seun let her be na. You know children of nowadays" Daddy interfered.

She finally agreed to let me go. After eating. I gave her the stuff my Mom sent me  to her and spent some time with them. When it was time for me to leave, Funmi helped me call a taxi. I told the driver to take me to my destination.

When I got to Salamat's fathers house, the gateman opened the gate and the driver drove in. I carried the bags out and paid him.
Salamat dad is a rich business man in Abuja. They're are from the Fulani tribe. Salamat is the first daughter she has two yonger sisters Aisha and Mariam and an older brother Yakubu

I went to the door and rang the door bell like three times until Aisha came to open the door when she saw me, she squealed and hugged me. Like I said. Salamat and I are like sisters. I know her family and she knows mine

"How are you....where's my friend" I asked as I stepped in

"Fine and ya Salamatu is in her room with umma"

"Ok" I started going to salamat room. I'm very familiar with this house. When I got to her door, I knocked then I heard her say "come in"

I opened the door ,Peered inside."Asalamu alaikum" I greeted quickly

"Wa laikumwa_" salamat was saying but when she saw it was me she squealed and jumped out of the bed. I was now inside fully she bounced on me and hugged me tightly. She freed me and slapped me on my shoulder

"Why are you  just coming"  she pouts

"I'm sorry, you know how work is " I was about to continue talking but remember that her mom is in with us "Oh umma i'm  sorry. Good evening ma" I bowed beside her

"How are you my darling....How is your mom"

"Fine ma"

"Allahdulilai....thor I'll leave you girls to have fun" she stood up from the bed and left the room.

"See our bride oo" I teased

"That's me o. Babes wassup na. I don miss you o" she said as we sat on the bed

"I miss you too. Ehn before I forget Teni say make I tell you make you no vex. She said she's busy and can't make it"

"I know she told me on WhatsApp....Forget about Teni. How Lagos . How mumsi"

"Ehn talking about mumsi" I went to my bag, opened it and brought out what my mom sent to her "she said I should give you all this as present and she's sorry that she couldn't  make it"

"Aww so nice of her. She shouldn't have worried i'll still come back to Lagos to pack the rest of my belongings "

"I told her o. But she said I must give you during the wedding"

"Aww I'll call her later"

"How's the preparation going, have you talked to Aazim?"

"Yes we were together yesterday. And next tomorrow is the bridal shower, after that the hennah ceremony and other things , the nikkah and the dinner " she explained

"Issokay "

"What should they now offer you?"

"Offer ke. Me as I am like this , I am full. I ate Eba and Egusi toh mad at Mummy Abuja's house..Yeee" I shouted

"What "

"I came and I've not greeted Alahji, i'm in trouble "

"I even thought something happened. Go and  meet him. He's in his parlour. You know where that is right "

I rolled my eyes at her " you're kidding right" she chuckled
"Don't mind me I was just teasing  you"

"Better be"

I went to her Dad's parlour, I saw him talking to Salamta's elder brother, I greeted the both of them. They were happy to see me.

I went back to Salamat's room, we called Aazim, talked about normal stuff, laughed and had fun until we slept off
