The officers and senior vampires were meeting with each other. Ariel's forces are only days away and no time can be spared. The defenses of the estate must be ready and anyone who is able to fight, will suit up. A few servants have volunteered to fight and Louis has allowed it. The estate was going to need all the help possible.

"My scouts and I number the soldiers in the thousands. The group is being commanded by Sinister and Marcel." The senior vampires are quite disturbed by meeting Marcel in combat. They trained and fought with him and it felt like attacking a friend. However, they wouldn't allow their friendship with Marcel to block them from defending the estate.

"Sinister and the forces should be here in a day or two. We don't have much time to prepare and I can't be sure, but Corin may reinforce them." Louis listened carefully, he knew one misstep could result in the loss of the battle. He would never take a chance with his husband and child. The older lad wondered if he was going to survive the battle.

"I want our defenses increased! We need to post more guardsmen at every position to ensure the survival of this estate. I need the vault to remain secured and guardsmen should be there too! I will not allow this estate to fall, it's existed for too many years!" The group was taken aback by Louis' outburst of yelling.

Zayn couldn't believe Louis was yelling at them. It wasn't there fault the estate was outnumbered and outmatched by Ariel. The officers were doing their best, but Louis always wanted them to do more. Harry pulled his husband aside to speak with him in private. He knew Louis was trying to control the entire situation.

"Loubear, you need to listen to me." The older lad wasn't having any of it, he attempted to break away from Harry and return to the meeting. The curly haired lad gripped Louis' shoulders tightly and didn't allow him to leave. Louis was surprised by the strength of his husband, for a human at least. The lad stopped Louis before he could even move.

"You need to calm down." Louis listened to Harry and stared into his emerald orbs. Those eyes always relaxed him and took away all of his worries. The world around him disappeared and Harry was the only thing he focused on. "We need unity with each other, not division among ourselves about things long passed."

Louis kept on listening to his husband, the lad had a way with words. "Arguments aren't going to solve anything and they never will. The officers haven't done anything wrong, we need their support. They are the backbone of our estate, if they're divided I can't imagine what would happen to your estate." The older lad pressed his index finger to Harry's lips, which were quite soft.

"It's our estate." The curly haired lad giggled and hugged Louis, it was a welcoming feeling. They stayed in the same position for a while, until Harry pulled away. He knew they needed to return to the meeting, the officers were still waiting. "Thank you for helping me." Louis pressed his lips to Harry's. The kiss was quick, but it's all they needed.

The couple returned to the meeting and Zayn noticed something different, Louis was relaxed. Harry's connection with Louis was unique because no one else in the region could communicate with him so deeply. Harry has known Louis for the least amount of time, but knows more about him than anyone else.

"I'm  sorry for my outburst, it was wrong of me to do so." The officers nodded and the meeting continued, Serge was surprised to receive an apology. He believed Louis had no need to apologize to them because of his position. He wasn't going to say much about it, the officers had more pressing matters.

"We need to establish lines of defense." Louis waited for his officers to suggest something, he didn't have a clue of what to do. Liam would of had a plan by now, he has a vast knowledge of military tactics and positions.
