"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY REFUSED?" I growled loudly.

"They said they didn't want to join the pack. Their Alpha said no" my Beta Jace explained while everyone else in the room stepped back slightly, sensing my anger.

"Well tell them they can't refuse" I snarled feeling my wolf stir inside me.

"It appears they can and they already have. The Beta of the Silver Moon pack made it very clear that they were not going to join us" Jace said calmly. I respected Jace for that. He was one of the only people who actually put up with me. He was rarely scared of me and was one of my best advisors.

I scowled at my desk before slamming my fist down in anger.

"You mean to tell me you didn't even speak with the Alpha?! You had one job!" I said fists clenched tightly. I was the alpha of the biggest pack in North America, I would not be made a fool of or disrespected.

"The Beta said that the alpha had better things to do than talk to...." Jace murmured trailing off.

"Then talk to?" I questioned eyebrows raised.

"Anyone from a pack that has an arrogant twat as an Alpha" Jace finished looking down at the floor waiting for my outburst.

I snarled pushing all the papers off my desk in anger and frustration. How dare they say that about me? Did the Alpha of Silver Moon know how powerful I was? I could wipe them out within a day.

"Tell the warriors to prepare. We move out at dawn." I demanded watching everyone scuttle out of the room hastily.

"War? Really?" Jace groaned in a bored tone.

"Yes. Now go and get ready" I ordered.

"Why does everything always have to be about bloodshed with you? You could always go and talk it over with their alpha". My stern gaze ended that suggestion.

"Why do you want them to join our pack anyways? I thought you didn't want to seem soft?" Jace said persisting with his question obviously getting me to rethink my idea of war.

"A bigger pack is better. And I've let them stay on our territory long enough. It's rightfully owned by the Red Night pack and I'm ready to fully claim it back as ours. The Alpha of the Silver Moon pack is going to learn not to mess with me" I said.

Jace simply rolled his eyes before nodding curtly and heading out to make the preparations for battle.

I made my way downstairs knowing I had to move out for battle in just under an hour. There was no one around so I quickly searched for some food to give me some energy.

"Another war then son?" I heard a stern feminine voice say. I winced at my mothers concerned voice knowing she didn't fully approve of violence.

"Pack business mother, you wouldn't understand" I said in my Alpha tone, not wanting to be persuaded by my mothers convincing tone.

"If you had a mate you wouldn't be so hot headed and angry all the time. Then maybe you wouldn't go to war whenever you didn't get your way" my mother huffed crossing her arms over her chest.

"I don't want and I don't need a mate" I argued turning my back on her ready to walk out of the door.

"Your mate would make the pack stronger" She said.

I laughed in spite of her comment, turning back quickly.

"Mother. I have the strongest pack in North America. I am one of the most well respected Alphas and I have one of the biggest packs on the continent. I do not need to worry about strength. Besides men who have mates are weak. Their mates make them weak. If their mates die they can't survive. They live for their mate. Why would I want that?  A mate would just hold me back. I don't have one and I don't intend to get one." I said scowling.

"That'll all change once you get your mate" she assured me, walking out of the kitchen before I could argue back.

What did she know? I didn't need a mate. Right now I had only one aim. To wipe out the Silver Moon pack, and that was what I planned to do.

"Move out!" I yelled causing a surge of warriors to move forwards, heading eastwards through the trees to the edge of my territory.
