"Arran is busy right now so for the mean time, I'll be the one leading you." Blaze announced to his teammates with authority during their practice game. Napabuntong-hininga naman si Connor dahil sa sinabi nito. Iyong mga teammates naman niya ay kaagad pumunta sa gitna ng court para magpractice.
"Rivera," Blaze suddenly called his attention. Napaayos naman ng tayo si Connor. Fuck. Siya na naman ang pag-iinitan nito, "You won't be joining the practice today, you'll just be at the substitutes' bleachers. You're just going to observe again."
"Okay." Connor just replied dryly as he just went to his way to the bleachers.
"Blaze, pinag-iinitan mo na naman ang rookie natin." Narinig naman niyang nagsalita ang isa pang De Leon, the youngest of the De Leon brothers, Colton.
"He's a rookie. All rookies go through hardships and observations, Colton." Blaze answered stiffly. Napailing na lang si Connor at naupo na sa bleacher. He sighed again as he was watching his other rookie teammates playing freely inside the court.
Mahigit isang buwan na mula 'nung simulang pag-initan siya ni Blaze de Leon. It was on the day that when both him and Maddison, the de Leon's only sister slept together for the first time. The day when he sneaked out cautiously and silently from Maddison's room - expecting everyone was still asleep. But no - Blaze, the second De Leon, saw him going out from Maddison's room. That was why he got a black-eye on his damn face because of him.
Maaga namang pumunta si Connor sa male locker room ng university gym. Mamaya kasi ay magprapractice na naman sila ng basketball ng team nila. He was really relieved dahil papaano ay pagkatapos 'nung nangyari sa kanilang dalawa ni Maddison de Leon, it seems like everything's just back to normal. Like as if nothing really happened.
Bago pa man siya makapasok ay nakita niya sa loob si Blaze, ang isa sa mga De Leon brothers. All of the De Leon brothers are his seniors at aaminin din niyang magaling maglaro ang magkakapatid. That's why all their teammates really respect them so much, including him. Malaki rin kasi ang respeto niya sa tatlo dahil lahat silang mga rookies na natanggap ay talagang hands-on pinagtretraining ng mga De Leon.
Blaze was just changing his clothes into their basketball uniform.
"Senpai," He joked to call his attention. Senpai is a japanese term for senior.
Hindi naman ito nagsalita at tahimik lang nagbibihis.
Nagkibit-balikat naman si Connor at pumunta na sa locker niya. Kinuha naman niya mula doon ang isa pa niyang jersey.
"Rivera, I saw you coming out from my sister's room this morning," Napatigil naman si Connor nang biglang magsalita ito, "Why?" Blaze asked him casually - although somehow, he sensed something dangerous in his voice.
