Carefuly, I sit on the edge of Bruce's bed. Nakakilang dahil nasa ibang kuwarto ako. It's a typical guy's room na medyo makalat. Nakakabit sa pader ang ilang vintage movie posters na malamang ay mga paborito niyang pelikula. Halatang madalas ring nananatili si Lyanna rito dahil may hangeran sa isang sulok ng kuwarto kung saan nakasabit ang kanyang mga damit.

Lyanna dragged me to this room because of the building tension between me and Paola, when she started bitching me. Siya naman ay kumportableng naupo sa gitnang bahagi ng kama.

"Who is Paola?"

Maganda si Paola, sa totoo lang. Blonde ang mahaba niyang buhok na may pagka-wavy ang dulo. Ang sexy niya at ang liit ng kanyang beywang. Parang model ang dating. Nasobrahan lamang sa makeup.

Pero kung ikukumpara ko siya sa bestfriend kong si Jane ay kay Jane pa rin ako. Kahit walang makeup ay maganda si Jane. Nagmumukhang inosente, taliwas sa liberated look niya sa tuwing siya'y naka-complete get-up.

Hindi naman siya pala-ayos noong 1st year highschool kami. She's a typical promdi who transferred to the Metro to study. Baduy pa siya noon at walang kaayos-ayos. Pero dahil madalas siyang na-bu-bully sa school ay tinuruan namin siya ni Ashley na mag-ayos ng sarili. She had a total make-over! She was unrecognizable in our sophomore year.

"They used to go out, but they're not dating." Lyanna's voice drives my thoughts back to the present. I guess I'm just missing Jane. I'll contact her later.

"Like friends with benefits?"

She nibbles at her fingernail. Pagkatapos ay itinaas niya ang dalawang binti at niyakap ang mga iyon. Kita ko ang pag-angat ng dalawa niyang balikat sa lalim ng pagbuntong-hininga niya. "Maybe," mahina niyang sabi, I couldn't almost decipher.

"It's funny because she was acting like she's a girlfriend when in fact, she knew from the start that they're just hanging out."

"Yeah, right, they're FB's."

"Fuck buddies?" halos papiyok niyang tanong.

Medyo nagulat ako sa hindi inaasahang narining. Ayaw ko kasing i-entertain ang ideyang iyon sa isipan ko. Eh paano kung ganoon nga? What if they're fuck buddies nga? I really don't want to entertain the thought that Andy is doing it with her while we were chatting.

Friends with benefits, Fuck buddies, they're actually the same. Mas maganda nga lang pakinggan iyong una. "Friends with benefits," paglilinaw ko.

Napahalakhak naman si Lyanna. "I think I know him so well so I would know if he has a girlfriend or not. That's why Paola's jealous of you. Andy has never given her the the kind of attention that he's showering you."

"She looks very posh, not to mention that she's really pretty. Are you sure they're not in a relationship?"

"You know what Sophie, Andy has never gotten into a serious relationship for two years as far as we know. And as I've told you, I know him well and I'll know if he seriously likes a girl."

"What about her? Doesn't he like her?" I'm being so nosy.

"He liked her somehow. But maybe, you know, it didn't push through to something more serious because of the reason that he just likes her. And he doesn't really, really like her on a deeper level."

I do hope that Andy likes me more than he just plainly likes me. And even more than that.
