“You’re such an arse,” Harry yelled at Niall. Harry was sixteen, and Niall just turned seventeen that week. Harry knew he was young, and maybe caring about a relationship was stupid, especially since they’ve only been together for under a month.

“Yeah I am.” Niall said, rolling his eyes. At that point Niall didn’t really care, or so he thought.

“I don’t know why I’m with you. We should just break up.” Harry said, and he knew he would regret that tonight.

And he did, because he cried for the longest time.

Only two weeks later, Harry found himself confessing that he didn’t mean to break up with Niall – and honestly he didn’t, but he definitely was angry at how Niall acted that night.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…” Harry said, and to say his eyes were red from crying for almost two weeks – well when he wasn’t around people. “I just… You were…. Can we…” Harry’s voice was shaking, and it cracked.

“Um… Sure.” Niall stammered, mostly confused by Harry’s sudden confession. “Are you okay?” Niall asked.

Ten break ups later,

“You know, you are still such an asshole.” Harry said, he just turned seventeen – well, not recently, but four months ago. “Can’t you… I don’t know… Treat me a lot nicer?” Harry felt clingy for attention, but Niall was a jerk to him sometimes.

“I don’t care,” Niall said, in his most monotone voice ever. Niall did care, but for some reason, his voice always disagreed with him. No, you can’t love, Niall’s mind tells him.

“Can we just break up?” Harry yelled, out of frustration. He was pulling his hair, sighing louder than Niall’s heard before.

“Sure,” Niall shrugged. Please don’t, Niall’s mind yelled.

A month later, Harry found himself standing at Niall’s house, a sad smile placed on his face.

“Can we?” Harry didn’t have to finish his sentence, because Niall was used to this – since it happened ten times before.

“Come here,” Niall mumbled, rolling his eyes, before he felt Harry cling to him. Niall could feel tears, and he knew they were happy tears. Of course you do, because you pay attention to him.

Thirtieth break up,

“I’m straight!” Niall yelled, and to say he was drunk out of his mind wasn’t a lie. Niall was with his friend, Sean, at an Irish pub back home. He took Harry home to Ireland, where his father lived, since Harry wanted to join Niall.

Sean rolled his eyes, before seeing Harry’s sad face. Sean was drunk too, but he then remembered Harry was there to make sure the two boys got home safely.

“Oh, come on Niall, let’s go home now.” Sean said. Sean loved Harry, he made Niall happy – not that Niall would admit that.

“No, that girl, she’s pretty.” Niall shouted, before Sean dragged him out of the pub, motioning Harry to leave too. Niall pouted as his best friend dragged him out.

“I’ll drive you,” Harry’s voice was monotone, he didn’t care anymore. His boyfriend just yelled that he was straight, and flat out called a girl pretty – but it definitely wasn’t in just a friendly way. He loved Niall, a lot, and he would do anything. Which apparently meant drive him and his drunk friend home, despite the heartbreak going on.
