Chapter Fifteen

    "Is that too heavy?"

   Akira couldn't help but giggle when Yusuke failed to lift a box. The older boy stretched his back and groaned.

   "Yes... I have some paint cans in this one..." He said.

   "Don't worry, I got it!" Akira went to pick up the box.

   "But it's really—!" Yusuke cut himself off when Akira lifted the box without trouble. "Oh goodness..."

   "I used to carry heavy stuff like this for my teachers a lot when I was younger. I can handle it~!" Akira said with a smile.

   Yusuke couldn't help but smile back.

   'Such a beautiful light you give off... how can anyone even think to hurt you...?'

   Akira sat the box in the back of his car, locked it up, then stretched his arms.

   "That's all of it! Should we head back now?"

   Yusuke felt a slight jolt of panic. Futaba had sent him multiple messages saying he had to keep Akira away from home for as long as he could. Apparently, Ann and Ryuji were taking care of a bunch of hidden cameras. That was really concerning...

   "A-Actually..." Yusuke stuttered. "I wanted to go somewhere with you... I-I mean there isn't a lot of shopping districts around your new house, a-and I want to take you somewhere really nice..."

   Akira began to slowly smile and he folded his arms.

   "Are you trying to ask me out on a date~?" He asked.

   The artist's cheeks started to turn bright red as he averted his eyes.

   "Uhm... yes... I really want some alone time with you..."

   The younger boy came up and pecked Yusuke on the lips, before holding his hands and smiling.

   "Then I'd love to go out with you,"

   Yusuke smiled back and wrapped his arms around Akira's waist and left soft kisses on his cheek.

   "So, where do you plan on taking me?"

   "There's a new aquarium that just opened close to here with sea creatures from many exotic places. It's actually walking distance. I had a feeling you'd really like to see that," Yusuke said.

   Akira's eyes instantly lit up.

   "Really! I'd love to! Let's go, show me the way! Come on, come on!"

   Yusuke was caught by surprise, but happily lead him to the place in question. The aquarium was packed with people; children ran around and teens walked in groups. Yet all the artist could focus on was his sweet lover... In seconds, Akira was filled with enthusiasm and sweet childlike happiness as he rushed to see the exhibits with sea life from places all over the world. Yusuke felt like he would cry at the pure sight.

   'Words can't describe how sweet he is... I love him so much...'

   Right now, Akira was looking at a tank full of jellyfish that had a brilliant white-blue glow. The light shined over Akira's face so perfectly. Yusuke found himself absentmindedly go toward Akira, pull him close, then deliver a sweet, passionate kiss to his soft lips.

   'Akira... you mean so much to me...'

   When they pulled away, the younger male had blush spreading across his cheeks. He had his mouth open as if he wanted to speak, but found no words.

  "I'll do anything to keep you safe. I'll protect you with my life so you can live on and keep smiling... I love you, Akira..." Yusuke said.

   Akira smiled as tears slipped down his face and he hugged his lover tight.

   "I love you too..."
