“Lou, time to get up!” Mark says, walking into the bathroom next to my room. I mumble something like “I’m up. I’m up” and fall back asleep.

“LOU, COME ON WE HAVE A GAME TODAY!” Ernest says, walking into my room. I groan and curl up more, I hear my brother aw. “I’m going to get Mum to wake you and you know how well that’s going to go." Groaning, I push my quilt away because Ernest is right, if Mum does know I’m still in bed it won’t go well. I shuffle into the bathroom, rubbing the sleep from my eyes before brushing my teeth and washing my face. I look up to see a sick boy looking back at me, after looking at my hair I see that it's everywhere. A while after it's not worth the effort, I decide that it's a beanie day. I grab a pair of blue skinny jeans, my The Fray shirt and a black beanie, quickly slipping it on, and then I slip my feet into my white TOMs. I grab my phone off the charger and check for any messages and nothing came up besides the calendar reminder about the football game, and my messenger bag filled with the school books I brought home Friday. I walk into the kitchen and greet my mum with a kiss on the cheek. "Morning, mum."

"G’morning Boobear. Ernest and Doris are waiting for you so hurry up and eat, I read what Dr. Payne prescribed, and it says you have to eat before taking it." Mum passes me a plate with a piece of buttered toast and some eggs. I shove the eggs down my throat, because unlike the other two, I don't really like the taste of eggs, as mum places a glass of orange juice and a pill near my plate. I grab the pill and pop it into my mouth and wash it down with the cool liquid. "Thank you mum, I'll be home late so I can work on any assignments." I walk out the house and jump into Ernest’s car with Doris, Niall and Luke. After I get in, we drive to school while having mindless chatting, I am listening to my music.

Minutes later the five of us arrive to the school building and wish my condition made me stay home. I sigh as I walk to my locker, which is across the hall from Ernest’s and Doris’s is on the next set. While I gather the books I need for English and Math.

"Hey Lou!" Zayn says, walking with Perrie and Liam. Ernest, Doris, Niall, and Luke huddle around my locker seconds after the other three arrive. Ernie takes my books, Doris grabs what I missed and Zayn holds me up. This is when I am most grateful for this group.

"Hi," I respond, my energy dropping rapidly in seconds. I close my eyes and use my left fist to gather Zayn’s black shirt.

"Tired?" Niall pipes up, munching on something from his bag. I nod because I always am. I'm not allowed to take PE or be on the footie team or I'll get sick. That is why the other two are doing it for me.

"Did someone tell you that there's this new kid starting today?" Liam asks. My face wrinkles with confusion. Liam notices my face because he starts going on about how well be good friends with the new lad and how he’ll understand my problems. Ernest and Zayn help me to my first class and Doris puts the forgotten items on my desk. Before she leaves, she whispers a “good luck” before going to her class. Zayn sits to my left and my brother is to the right of me. Mrs. Smith walks in and I lay my head down and listen.

(Shorter than the others, but tell me what you think?)
