That night as I drifted off to sleep, that day replayed over and over in my mind. My brother and his friends bullying him, along with us talking about our lives in my room. But yet neither of us bringing out our secrets.

I looked at my scars in the dark. I couldn't see them at that moment but I could still feel the burn and the blood drip down.

And with that, I fell asleep.

"Hey!" Jackson ran up to me in the hall.

"Hey." I smiled.

"Could you come over today?"

"Most likely, if Derek's home."

"Great." He said, flashing another smile. "James and Alicia is coming over too. If you don't mind?"

"Oh no." I replied. "It's fine. But I might stay extra."

"Alright!"

"Well there's the bell let's go to English." I said joining arms with him.

"That book.." He groaned.

"Oh trust me it's good. I read it while waiting for so long to be adopted."

"Oh." He looked down. "Well maybe you can help me if we have to answer any questions."

"Totally." I smiled. "Maybe we'll get to sit together."

"Don't worry." He flashed a smile.

"Huh?"

"I emailed her yesterday after lunch and asked to sit by you."

"And she said yes?"

"Well duh! Mrs. Garcia loves me!" He laughed as we walked into English.

"Class!" Mrs. Garcia clapped her hands together. "Everyone get up! We're switching seats.

Of course Jackson and I were the first ones to be placed in seats. I got his old seat and he was put beside me.

"You might have to fight me over that seat. " Jackson smiled as I sat down.

"I'd like to see you try." I squinted one eye playfully.

"Seriously." He laughed. "I've had that seat for so long."

"Well." I placed my hands on the desk. "Mine now."

"Fine." He playfully sighed.

"Ha!" I stuck my tongue out at him.

"But-" we heard Felicia saying.

"You will be alright child!" Mrs. Garcia rolled her eyes.

"Not fair." She say down crossing her arms.

Finally, the day ended.

"Jan!" I yelled as I walked through the front door.

"Yes?" she gave me a little smile.

"Can I go to Jackson's?"

"Well.."

"Don't worry we won't be alone. Our friends James and Alicia will be there." I rolled my eyes.

"Wow. You're becoming popular huh?"

"Not really." I mumbled.

"Huh?" Jan raised her eyebrow but wasn't looking at me.

"Nothing. So can I?"

"Sure. " She smiled. "Be back at seven."

"Alright."

"How are you getting there?"

"I'll walk." I said heading for the door.

"You sure sweet heart?" She stepped closer.

"Yup!" I ran for the door. "Bye."

After closing the door, my phone started going off. It was a text.

Hey. (;

Hey Alx. :)

What's up?

Nothing heading to a friends house.

Aw I was wanting you to come over.

You can come with me. I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

Who?

Jackson.

Oh.

So want to?

I'm good. I'll see you tomorrow.

Okay.

At Jackson's I decided to ring the door bell.

"Hey!" Jackson pulled me inside. "Did you walk here?"

"Yeah."

"Wow." He smiled. "So make yourself at home."

I looked around. The house was a little smaller than my new one was. But, it was a lot nicer on the inside. two white couches. Gray recliner. White blinds on the windows. A small brown coffee table in front of the recliner and one of the couches. By the other couch across the room was a small little stand with a drawer with a lamp with a purple lampshade.

"It's not much. I know. " Jackson came up beside me.

"No." I paused. "I love it."

Next to greet me was Alicia.

"You look so pretty!" She smiled, hugging me.

"Thanks." I hugged her back.

"Hey." James gave me a quick side hug.

"Hey James."

That night we ate pizza from Pizza hut and played Monopoly, and Just Dance.

"Well guys," I stood looking at the clock. "Hate to ruin our last round but I have to go."

"How?" Jackson asked.

"Same way I go here. Walking."

"No." Jackson stood. "We got you."

"Well I have to be home before 7:30." I said looking around.

"Alright come on."

Although we talked and talked at Jackson's the ride home was quiet.

Too quiet.

He dropped off Alicia, and then James.

"How long have you had your license?" I asked.

"A while.." He said slowly without looking at me.

He dropped me off and didn't smile. Didn't say goodbye. Just waved. Without looking at me. I turned around on my steps to see Jackson, his face against his sterring wheel. He looked up wiped his face and his eyes met mine. Before I oculd make it to his car he backed out and drove away.

What the heck?
