That night I went home and did my best to ignore my "brother," who had friends over.

"Who's the cutie?" Josh's friend asked.

"My name is Megan." I rolled my eyes. "And you are?"

"Zack." He gave a player smile.

"And.." I circled around him? "I'm guessing you're, what? 5'7?"

"5'8 actually." He chuckled.

"I was close."

He flipped his black hair away from his face. Maybe if his hair was shorter, he would be cute. He had on Jeans, Vans, and a black shirt that spelt the word "DOPE."

"Is your name Megan?" Another guy asked politley.

"Yes." I tried to give a smile. "What's your name?"

"Jeremiah." His blue eyes sparkled.

He had short brown hair, and bright blue eyes. He also had braces. He was wearing a Aeropostle shirt that was a light red, and jeans along with Nikes.

"Megan" Josh rolled his eyes. "Would you just go?"

"Excuse you." I gave him a sharp look. "I'm new here, you aren't. You have more friends than I do."

"Didn't you make any new friends?" Zack chuckled.

" A few, actually." I rolled my eyes.

"Call one of them!" Josh grunted.

"But she's pretty cool to me." Jeremiah smiled at me.

"Thank you, at least someone does!" I headed upstairs.

I fell to my bed, and dug out my cellphone. I decided to call Jackson.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

"Hello?" I heard Jackson's voice.

"Hey. It's me, Megan."

"Oh hey Megan!" He giggled.

"Hey wanna come over today?"

"Oh, let me ask!" He sounded excited. "Be right back!"

"Okay." I waited about seven minutes.

"I'm back."

"Well, can you?"

"Nope.."

"Oh.." I slumped my shoulders.

"Not until Ik now where you live, silly!" He chuckled.

"Oh, okay!" I smiled.

I gave him my address and waited for his arrival. I walked down stairs humming.

"Why are you so happy?" Josh asked.

"I have a friend coming over."

"You ask Derek?"

"He isn;t here, smart one!" I laughed.

"Hey Jan?" I walked into the kitchen.

"Yes?"

"I was wondering if my friend, Jackson could come over." I paused. "Don't say no, he's on his way."

"Megan!" She yelled while getting a pot out of the cabinet.

"Jan, please?"

"Fine." She sighed. "Just stay out of the kitchen!"

Ding-Dong!

"That's for me!" I jumped up from beside Jeremiah on the couch and headed to the door.

"Jackson!" I smiled wrapping him in a hug.

He gave a hug back, all while smiling.

"Oh no." His smile went away as soon as he looked inside.

"What's wrong?"

"Them." Jackson whispered.

"What about them?"

"Is Josh your brother?"

"Yes, step-brother, why?" we continued to whisper as we felt their eyes on us.

"Well, he.." He grabbed the back of his neck. "You'll see."

"You okay?"

"I'll be fine."

"You're friends with him?" Josh busted out laughing.

"Yes." I crossed my arms, scooting closer to Jackson.

"Oh gosh." Zack laughed. "Fag alert!"

"Guys, stop." Jeremiah rolled his eyes.

"What, are you two lovers now?" Josh laughed.

"Where's your room?" Jackson whispered.

"Come on." I grabbed his arm and led him upstairs.

I sat on my bed, him following. He took a seat beside me.

"Nice room." He tried to smile.

"I still have some things to work on."

I heard him sigh as he laid down.

"You okay?"

"No. They always do this." I noticed his eyes becoming watery. "Maybe I should go home."

"No!" I grabbed his arm, trying to ressure him.

"I don't like being made fun of."

"You think I do?" I shook my head.

"How would you know?" He sighed. "You're like perfect compared to me.

"You have a lot to learn." I sighed.
