Broken Glass

I woke up in a cold sweat. I know that I didn't kill my dad, my mom told me so. But I can't get the image out of my head.

I went downstairs to see if my parents were down there. But once I got there, I saw a shattered window, which really made me worried.

I start running around the house, to find them.

They weren't anywhere to be found. I pulled out my phone and I started to call them.

Both of their phone's went straight to voicemail, so I decided I'd run to Catco to see if my mom is there.

Once I got there I went to her office and she wasn't there. I started to panic, where are they?!

"Mia?" I hear a voice from behind say. I turn around to see Mr. James. "Do you know where my mom or dad is?" I ask while heaving.

He puts a worried expression on his face. "I haven't seen them, but I might know where they are. You should go to school, your late. I've got this." He reassures me.

So I started trudging my way to school. Once I got there, 1st period was over. I got to 2nd period and it was really weird.

I felt people staring at me. And everytime I looked at them, the would look at me with fear in their eyes, and they move away.

I looked at my friends and they were all glaring at me. I felt completely lonely, that was until someone approached me.

She has blond hair and hazel eyes and she her hair is in a high ponytail. She looks very fierce, she also has a cheer outfit on. I've never seen her before so she must have came when I was suspended.

"Hi, I'm Vanessa. So, I've heard you beat the baddest boys in school.." She immediately says. I give her a shy look.

"I want you to join the cheer squad. Every other member is weak, and I think you would be perfect." She says nonchalantly.

I look at my friends again to see them still glaring. And I saw Sophia and she looked really hurt.

As if she read my mind she says "Oh, her. Once I got promoted to Head Kitty Kat, I kicked her off the team. She was bumming our spirit.." She smirks.

"I'm sorry, I don't really want to join.." I say weakly. "I'll give you some time to think about it.." She says while walking off.

After School...

It was finally the end of the day. It was terrible. Every time I sat down, people slowly scooted their desks away and my friends were giving me the evil eye. But I guess I deserve it..

I decided to approach them, no matter how much they hate me right now.
"Hi guys..." I say weakly.

"What do you want?" Sophia snaps. "I just came to apologize. I'm so so sorry for what I said, I don't know what came over me.."

They continue to stare at me with hate in their eyes. "Nothing?" I say awkwardly. "At least I tried.." I say a little agitated.

"What you said hurt, it was so rude and totally uncalled for. And I hate you because of it! So why don't you go somewhere else and act like the entitled bitch that you are!" Chrysanthe snaps.

I felt my eyes become glassy. I turned around to go home, while tears were streaming down my face like a waterfall.

I got home and slammed the door. I looked around to still see the broken glass, but other than that it was dead silent and everything was in it's place.

I heard a knock on the door. I opened it and I saw Mr. James, a man, and a girl who looks around my age.

"Mia, This is Barry and Kori! Barry will help you find your parents." Mr. James smiles. "I actually knew you're parents, we go back.." Mr. Barry smiles.

I shook their hands, and I got a closer look at Kori. She's really pretty, and I honestly envy her.

I led everyone to the 'crime scene' and Mr. Barry started looking around.

"I'll have to piece the glass back together to see the entry point. Then we can see what weapon was used." He states. I could not believe what I saw next.

Everything went in slow motion and I saw Mr. Barry putting the pieces together. After he finished everything went back to normal.

"What did you just do?!" I asked him immediately.

I saw Mr. James face palm. "Right, I forgot..." he whispers. "What are you?"

"Well, I'm a Metahuman. But that's not important. The window doesn't have any breaking point.." He says awkwardly.

"I've only seen one other case like this, on this Earth..." "What is it?!" Kori asks.
