I held out my hand to touch it. It's mesmerizing in a sort of way. But it singed when I touched it.

I saw weird red cracks start to form on my hand so I retracted it. Before I could say anything about it, Chrysanthe shuffled through the door.

"Grandma, I couldn't find your briefcase. But I found a suitcase and it's really heavy.." Chrysanthe says out of breath. She then drops it on the floor.

Ms. Lilian then looked at her watch. "Well, I have a meeting. You guys can go home. And Mia, if you ever need anything, call me." She smirks.

The guard starts dragging us out and then the front door is slammed behind us. "That was strange.." Chrysanthe says confusedly. "Mhmm." I say sarcastically.

"Hey, do you wanna go back to your house?" She asks. "No, I have plans.." I say looking at my nails.

I actually don't I just don't feel like hanging out with her. She is such a loser, it's kinda sad.

"Oh, okay. While I'll see you on later.." She says awkwardly. "Don't count on it.." I mumble while walking away.

After a while I finally make it home. "Hey kiddo." My dad says cheerily as I walk in. I gave him an icy glare as I started walking up to my room.

The next day...

I woke up the next morning, in a terrible mood. I got out of my bed and put on my glasses. I made my way to the bathroom and I took a shower.

I'm feeling a change in style. My outfits are so boring. And I took off my glasses as well. I don't know why I wear them, I can see perfectly fine with out them.

I also decided to put on makeup. It wasn't too much, just some eye liner and some hot pink lipstick.

I made my way downstairs to see my mom and dad kissing. "Ew, get a room." I scoff. My mom gives me an awkward look but I could honestly care less.

I pour myself a bowl of cereal and I started eating. "What are you wearing?" My dad asks slightly annoyed. "And where are your glasses?" My mom adds.

I roll my eyes. "I'm wearing clothes, and I can see without my glasses. Their pointless." I snap.

"I know you're not talking to us like that." My mom says angrily. "Well guess what I am. Now move." I say while shoving my parents out the way so I can go to school, another place where I'm unappreciated.
