Right now, we're staying in a hotel right outside the palace. I've tried to tell him we should move farther away, but he won't listen. It's almost like he thinks that staying near her will make her take him back. He's an idiot. If she's smart, she'll move on. And I know she is. When I take the throne with Cal at my side, I might even decide to keep her. Not as a noble, maybe as a lady-in-waiting or a servant. I think she can teach me a thing or two. But right now, he can't be thinking about her. He needs to be thinking about me. I need him to be paying attention to me. Because in a few weeks, I'm starting my plan. Convincing him that he belongs in that palace. That this nation belongs to him. That he deserves what Maven has and that his brother deserves to die. It won't be easy, but I know he'll listen. If not because he believes it, but because he doesn't have another option. I'm the only one he has right now. Mare's thrown him away, Maven doesn't trust him, and the rest of the country believes he murdered his father for the throne. Without me, he has no one.
