Humans? Riding dragons? It's almost enough to  make me laugh. I need to tell Mom what that prisoner said. She might even laugh again. What was the kid's name? Hiccup? He sure looked like one.

I walk into my home and see Mom examining her axe. It was handed down from her mother, and her mother's mother and so on. It has an immaculate, Dark Wood handle with ancient runes along it. The blade was a darkened type of metal we call Titanium. It was made from the Gronckle blacksmiths and is used for almost all weapons for it's extremely light, but could cut a normal sword in two. It holds the family crest on the blade and my Mom has wielded the ax her whole life. It was quiet beautiful in my opinion.

At least it used to be. The past 5 years she hasn't been taking care of it and it's starting to loose its shine and rust over.

I pull off my black hood, letting my H/C hair fall, and walk up to her proudly. This was my chance. "Hey Mom, I spoke to one of the prisoners I captured yesterday. He woke up a bit before I went in. You wanna know what he said?" I ask her, doing my best to contain my excitement.

"I thought I told you to stay away from there." Her voice sent shivers down my back, dulling my excitement, as she wiped some build up off the precious heirloom without a glance to me. Her voice has always been cold since the battle and It scares even me now at times but I've gotten used to it.

     "Well yeah but--"

"I told you to stay away from the jail house. We can't have you giving away secrets to those humans with your blabber mouth." She scolds, her voice gradually gets louder every time she spoke. Why does she always think I'll mess up? I got some information out of them.

"Mom, I'm not going to tell them anything. I promise, I just wanted to find out why they were on our island." I kept a calm tone to my voice. If I raised to, I would just get in more trouble. I already learned my lesson and have the scar to remember it by. My hand subconsciously went to the top of my right cheek and traced the embedded mark.

"How did you even get past the guards? I told them not to let you in." She asks. Oh I'm really gonna get it now...

"I may or may not have knocked them out..." I tell her shamefully while looking down.

"Now we have no one guarding the Jailhouse! What if they were to escape?!" She yells at me, getting up from her seat. I do my best to control the tears welling up in my eyes.

I manage to keep my composure, "Mom, I doubt they're gonna escape." I reassure.

One of the towns people, a Monstrous Nightmare guard with a row of blue spines down his back, suddenly burst into our house drawing our attention to him. I gain my composure and restore my posture and ask the guard what's wrong. They are panting and have a worried look as he yells, "The prisoners have escaped!!"

Mom pushs her messy unkempt hair behind her ear and gave me a disapproving look, "You stay here F/N. After all, this is your fault, and I don't want you causing any more trouble." She tells me with that cold dead voice. My eyes widen but I look down, holding disappointment in my heart for myself.

"Alright Mother. As you wish." I say quiet and obediently.

"Good." She doesn't even glance at me as she leaves with the guard.

I look to make sure she was gone then went out the back door, running into the forest. Those humans aren't going to get far. I shift into the Lightfury, camouflaging into my surroundings, and fly up into the air. I sniff around and soon pick up their scents that I had learned earlier. They lead to the right. That way. I fly as fast as I can to get to them and it didn't take long before I spot the six running through the trees.
