Nathan's POV:

I called her phone three times, but got no answers.

Maybe she's at one of the girls' houses.

I called Marie first. She didn't know where Ava was.

Then I called Gabby, dreading what she would say.

"Hey Gabby." I started.

"Oh, hey Nathan. What do you want?" She asked.

"Is Ava there?" I asked hesitantly.

"No... why?" She asked suspiciously.

I chose to leave out the part about Alyssa kissing me and instead told her Alyssa scared off Ava.

"I am done with that girl!" Gabby roared.

"Yeah. And now I can't find Ava." I sighed.

"Hold on." She ordered. "I'm calling everyone else to see if they know."

"Good idea." I agreed.

"Hello? Is this Mason?" Gabby asked.

"Yeah. Hey Gabby." Mason replied.

"Is Ava there?" Gabby questioned.

"Yeah. She's in the shower." Mason answered.

"Okay, you better not get any ideas!" She warned him.

"I won't! Don't worry. She seemed really upset." Mason said.

"Can I come over? It's easier to talk in person." Gabby requested.

"Sure. Ava will be done by the time you get here." Mason agreed.

"Oh and can Nathan come?" Gabby asked.

"I'm not sure. She said something about what Nathan did. I didn't get the whole story." Mason reasoned.

"Never mind. He's not coming. See you in five!" Gabby hung up.

"Hey! I wanted to come!" I protested.

"Well I don't think you should." Gabby argued.

"Fine. Call me later and tell me how she is." I gave in.

"Okay, bye Nathan!" Gabby said as she hung up.

"Bye Gabby."

Ava's POV:

After my nice, warm shower, I changed into some clothes Mason had stolen from his sister's room. She was still in high school, but as a junior. We were the same size.

I walked back into Mason's room and started playing on my phone. Mason was playing Call of Duty on his Xbox.

"Can I join?" I asked.

"Sure. You know how to play?" He said.

"Not really." I admitted.

"Here. Put your hands on the controller here." He instructed, guiding my hands where they needed to go. His soft touch sent shivers down my spine in a good way. I wanted more.

"And put your fingers here." He instructed. He moved my fingers to the buttons.

He taught me how to play Call of Duty with him until he doorbell rang.

"Oh yeah. I forgot to tell you Gabby was coming." He said. He got up off the floor and walked over to the door.

"Hey Mason. Where's Ava?" I heard Gabby ask.

"In my room." Mason replied.

"I swear if you take advantage of her-" Gabby started but was cut off by Mason.

"Relax. I would never do that." Mason assured her.

I heard footsteps heading toward his room.

"Ava!" Gabby yelled. She ran over and wrapped her arms around me.

"Stop squishing me!" I choked out.

"Sorry. What happened with Nathan?" Gabby
asked, finally letting go.

I explained what happened without shedding a tear, but as soon as I finished, I broke down again.

"Awe! Come here girl!" Gabby said.

"I don't understand why he would do that!" I cried, sniffling in between almost every word.

"Sweetie, its okay. Nathan made a stupid mistake. I understand if you want to take a break from him." Gabby consoled me.

"Do you still like Mason?" I asked.

"No. I moved on a long time ago." Gabby said. "Why? Do you?"

"I don't know. I think so."
