"Uh can you pass me that?"

"Pass what?" Freya asked as she glanced in the direction where I was pointing. I was pointing at the shelf where multiple bottles of chemicals were kept. But even I didn't know what I was exactly asking for. God! What was I even doing?

I can't concentrate on anything after what happened last night.

"Actually never mind." I took off my safety glasses as I abandoned the artefact, I was working on. Walking to my office, I groaned as I buried my face in my palms. I'm such a mess.

I need to get my thoughts straight. I shot up from my seat as I started pacing the room. Right now I'm at work and I need to concentrate on it. Duncan is not here neither is Alexander, so I don't need to think about them or the situation I'm in. I'll just concentrate on my work, I have so much work to do. I can't just put all the burden on others while I wallow in self-pity. What kind of leader would I be if I do that? A bad one of course.

Concentrate. You need to concentrate, Evangeline. Get your mind back in the game.

With my new found determination, I get out of my office and get back to my work which I had abandoned. I carefully cleaned the old goblet like thingy. On cleaning, I noticed the signs of oxidation on the metal. I scrapped a bit of the oxidised part and checked it under the microscope and ran a few tests to see what metal was the goblet made of. If I don't know what the base metal is, and use just any chemical to clean it, it can damage the artefact.

After completing my work on it, I make records of it and put it in a box to keep it with the rest of the analyzed artefacts. When I look up to get another artefact to work on, I find everyone staring at me. "Is something the matter? Why are you all staring at me?" I quirked an eyebrow at everyone present there.

"Are you okay?" Trace asked, concern lacing his voice. "Just earlier you stormed into your office leaving everything incomplete, only to come out minutes later to work as if there's no tomorrow. What is going on?"

"Yeah, that's so out of character for you, Angie." Nick added staring as if he was trying to read my thoughts.

I sighed. "Don't worry. I'm just a bit stressed."

"You sure?" Tracey asked unsure.

"Yeah. No need to worry." I forced a smile to assure them.

"Hey, Angie!" Freya yelled as she came running, making everyone hiss at her to keep her voice down.

"What?"

"There's an angel outside and he is asking for you." she replied dazed while I stared at her weirdly. An angel?

"Angel?" Tracey asked, her brows furrowing in confusion.

"I-I mean a guy is waiting for you outside and he looks angelic...I mean he looks godly!" Her cheeks tinged pink as her eyes grew wide with embarrassment. She gasped and quickly scurried away, having embarrassed herself enough.

"Let's see who this angel is and how he entered a restricted area." I mumbled as I headed towards the lab entrance, leaving my safety glasses and gloves on the counter. But what or more like whom I saw there made my eyes widen.

"You. What are you doing here?" I shrieked as I saw Duncan standing in front of me with a half smile plastered on his face.

"Hello, love." he smiled widely at me, making his dimples appear. I almost turned into mush right there but controlled myself. Shaking my head to clear my thoughts, I gave him an once over. He was again wearing a three piece suite which was all white with a white shirt underneath paired with a sky blue tie. And unlike yesterday his hair was styled into a quiff instead of being a messy mop of hair.
