--> The Script's "Nothing", because this entire scene is inspired by their song <3

I hope this chapter will clarify Lenn and Rosa's relationship a bit more. Remember how once Rosa was 'abandoned' by the Cresceran family? Well, he was the first person to actually approach and be accepted by her. He was the one who also brought her close to Daniel and Eduardo, and her first boyfriend. Also, they have never officially broken up and even though Rosa has decided to move on, seeing him has brought memories. It's not easy longing for the past few months for someone dead and finally seeing him again. I'm sorry if I have not been clear enough about the 'something' going on between them [I tried - Rosa not fighting back the 'kidnapping', forgiving him really quickly, and now this scene.]

And please, comments, votes, shares are all very welcome! :) We're almost reaching 2000 reads, and you have no idea how excited that has been making me feel. Thank you, and thank you for all those supporters and fans of KoR!

Rosa

Today was my last day living in freedom in this castle, the last day of the Queen’s discussion with the royal scholars and priests. The last day Lenn would have any power against their decisions. The day that they would decide to let me live for my divine worth or to rip me apart in hopes of getting revenge, the last few hours in which I have to devise a plan, quickly, to get out of here. It seems quite impossible for any of my friends to enter Aldeina, let alone the Castle.

I had been gazing at the scenery, enjoying my last few moments in this room. It was difficult to sleep knowing that Lenn was still downstairs learning of my fate while I could do nothing but wait. What if they don’t need me anymore? How will I be able to escape the Queen? How will we escape this world?

The door exploded open. Immediately I turned, expecting Lenn’s tall build to be there. Instead a cloaked figure jumped towards me, my fingers skillfully toying with the three daggers Lenn had spared me for my self-defense. Was he a hired assassin? Did she somehow figure Lenn out? We tumbled across the carpet flooring, my daggers clashing with a longsword. I kicked him back, spinning while lashing my daggers. I heard a shout from below, and that confusion set me falling backwards. My enemy was strong, but I could not falter now, not when -

“Conrad!” I breathed, recognizing the golden lights beneath the hood. “Rosa,” he replied in the same stunned baritone of his. Immediately he stepped backwards, closing the door shut quietly and offered me his hand. I gaped my mouth open in surprise, studying his face. It really is him.

“R-Rosa. Why aren’t you in the dungeons? Didn’t –“ I interrupted his questions by tackling him into a tight hug. He still smelled the same, of Dedraun and the warm feelings of security. He made me feel safe. He gave me hope.

“I’ve missed you,” I murmured softly, breathing in his calming scent.

“Idiot, that’s why I came for you,” he pulled me closer, burying his face on my neck. After a moment of silence and he pulled back, his eyes back to the hard situation we were both now stuck in. But he was here, and that meant that there was a chance of escape.

“Rico is somehow Prince Lenn, and he’s on our side. The story is complicated, but basically the Queen wants to revive the King and needs my blood,” I tried to explain as simply as possible.

He nodded. “We have to go. I don’t know how, but we have to get out of here as soon as possible. They’re already looking for me,” his mesmerizing golden eyes gleamed with determination, holding my fingers tight. I nodded in agreement – no more dungeons for me.
