 Life was great.

It was something that somebody would say when their life was going great and Alessa's life was great right now. Her translation services had been going a lot better and if it kept growing at this rate they could become her full-time job in a couple months.

However the best part was Logan. She never thought that romantic love could be so fantastic. Alessa never had been in a real relationship prior to Logan because of her parents and their problems.

But she never thought that she was missing on anything. The brief dates that she had been on were awful and a waste of her time. So she had just assumed that a relationship just was some hyped up thing.

She understood what the hype was now.

There was some type of energy that ran through her when she thought about Logan. It had gotten a lot easier to be more of a positive person these times with that energy flowing through her. Something that most people had picked up on.

Including her brother.

However he believed that it was because of how the translation job was going and that the threat of their parents had faded.

He didn't know that she still got texts from Elaine all the time updating her on all the attempts to get her brother away from her. They hadn't done anything threatening too far, but she knew that something was going to happen eventually.

But she wasn't going to be worried about that now.

Now it was all about Logan.

She was planning on telling her brother about Logan soon, but she didn't know when was the right time.

Thankfully, her brother decided the right time for her.

"Are you in love or something?" He asked her one evening when they were eating a simple meal with rice and vegetables.

All of her movements stopped. "What?" She certainly hadn't expected that.

Nic shrugged looking down at his plate. "You've just been acting differently recently and I don't think that it's all because of your job," he offered as an explanation to the accusation that was very close to the truth.

"So you think that I'm in love?" She asked.

He shrugged again. "Or something."

A brief debate started in her head on whether or not she should tell her brother. It was stupid that she hadn't told him. Her brother knew most of her secrets except some of the ones involving her parents, but that was for his own well-being. It was not logical at that she hadn't told her brother about Logan.

A sigh escaped her lips. "You're pretty close," she admitted. Love was not what she would categorize it as but it was as close as it could be to love. Love was a little bit too soon this early on. "I have been seeing someone," she said.

The spoon in her brother's hand clattered onto the plate. A piece of broccoli fell next to his plate. "How long?"

Her eyebrows furrowed. "I have been meeting up with him for a little bit over a month now, but we have been officially dating since about two weeks ago." It wasn't completely official since there never had been a discussion about being in a relationship, but as far as she could tell, both of them were serious about each other.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked.

She shrugged. There wasn't a reason to not tell him, but this relationship thing was new for her and she was still finding her way in it. "I just wanted to be a little bit more sure about our relationship."
