Logan wasn't ashamed to admit that he called Alessa that same evening.

Even though he knew that somewhere in the world there was an unwritten rule that said one was supposed to wait longer than a day to call a girl back, he figured that the rule was invalid in the case of Alessa. Both of them liked each other, so it wasn't weird if he wanted to call her that evening. He wanted to make sure that she knew that he liked her.

Plus she didn't seem to mind. She was laughing on the other side of the phone and happily agreed to meeting up for another cafe date two days later.

Well, maybe it wasn't exactly a date. He didn't say that it was a date. He had asked to hang out. He didn't want to push, so it was going to be a hang out. Maybe after a couple of hang outs, he could go out on a date.

Fuck, he sucked at this.

But he didn't know the protocol. He had only been on two dates in his life and honestly only one of them could pass as a date.

Still it was progress and it made him happy. Something that his brother unfortunately also noticed.

"What the hell happened today?" His brother asked disturbing him out of the tv program that he was watching. Not that he was really watching it, but that was besides the point. His brother had disturbed him to be his annoying little self.

"What are you talking about, twerp?" He grumbled.

Dan stared at him. "Well now you're acting normally again."

Logan snorted. "And I wasn't acting normally before?!"

His brother rolled his eyes at him. It surprised him that his eyes hadn't rolled back into his sockets by now. "You have been completely zoning out since you picked me up from school and you are smiling a little too much," his brother suddenly gasped. "What did you do?"

It was his turn to roll his eyes. "I didn't do anything."

"Are you sure?" He asked. "Because the last time that you were acting like this, you...," he quickly cut his brother off before he could continue on with his bitching and complaining.

"Nothing happened," he said forcefully.

His brother turned to glare at him. "Fine, but if I have to help you like last time, then you can forget it."

"Well, that's good because I did nothing."

"Whatever," his brother grumbled. "I'm going to finish my homework."

"It's about time," he muttered under his breathe.

Dan still heard what he said by the glare that he received in response, but he couldn't bring himself to care. His brother was going to leave him alone and he could left with this crappy procedural cop tv show and his thoughts.

The next day he was constantly thinking about hanging out with Alessa. The other part of the day he was thinking about how much of a fucking hypocrite Liam was. He was still going on and on about the cold coffee and just completely disappearing for two hours.

Why the hell did he do that?!

Like he had the right to fucking talk about slacking.

Luckily Ryan's calm demeanor also finally cracked after he heard Liam complain for the millionth time. He sent Liam off to work in the office for the rest of the day.

Liam pouted and whined, but quickly listened to Ryan. Although Alvin was their boss and they were all just co-workers on paper, it was no secret that Ryan was the unofficial boss since Alvin wasn't there most of the time and somebody needed to create a semblance of order at the repair shop.
