~ Quinn's p.o.v ~

As I walked into my house my mom was standing there with worry on her face. I took off my shoes.

"Was he okay today?"
"Besides going ballistic and throwing oatmeal and a spoon at me and accusing me of trying to poison him, yep"
I looked up at her. She sighed, putting her hand over her face.
"Did Joey help at least?"
"Not really. He made things worse"
"Great"
She mumbled. I tossed my backpack on the couch.

"Where's Joey?"
She asked.
"He stayed"

Only because I didn't want him in the truck with me.

"Before you do anything,"
She grabbed an envelope off the table.
"You got a letter"
"From who?"
"I don't know. It was in the mail and your name is on it"
She had a grin on her face. She handed it to me. I cocked an eyebrow at her and took it from her. I opened it.

"It's from... the University of Georgia"
She smiled at me. I read the letter. A rush of excitement filled my body. I got a scholarship for softball.

"But how? I haven't played in months"
I smiled as I kept re-reading the letter.
"I guess someone recommended you last year when they saw you play"
She crossed her arms.

"I'm going to college"
I whispered. I hugged her.
"Your father would be so proud of you"
"He would"
She ran her fingers through my hair and kissed my head.
"What time is it?"
I asked her.
"7:30. Why?"
"Could I head to Marks practice and tell him?"
"You're grounded. Remember?"
"Please?"
I pleaded as she walked to the kitchen and grabbed her coffee cup.

"Well are you really going to Marks practice or are you going to Weston's?"
"Both..."
I laughed slightly.

"Quinn..."
She began.
"Mom please. Weston would be so happy for me. You don't understand how happy he makes me with everything that's going on. Please"
I begged.

She let out a sigh.
"I expect you to be back by 9:00, and no later or else..."

"Mark!"
I shouted from a distance. He looked at me. He was talking to some of his teammates. I caught up to him.

"Dude guess what?"
I said with a smile.
"I got in,"
I held out my paper. He had a look of disappointment on his face.
"What? You jealous?"
I chuckled. He rolled his eyes and sighed.
"Mark what's up? Who do you have beef with now, Geo?"
"No"
He looked at Nick and Colby. They were giving me dirty looks also.

"What happened?"
"Don't act stupid Quinn"
"What? Did I do something?"
I laughed nervously.
"Uh...no shit sherlock. You're dating Weston?"
"No? Who told you?"
Colby grabbed his phone and pulled a picture of Weston and I kissing.

"Really? That's not you and Weston?" Guys could I talk to her alone?"
"Yep"
Colby mumbled as he and Nick walked away from us.
"Mark..."
"No. Don't- you know my past with him. How could you do this?"
"I...I'm sorry Mark"
I stuffed my hands in my pockets.
"You realize you're betraying our school right? He's a Marian student...you're a Ridgeway...He's probably using you Quinn, why are you dating him, out of all people?"
"Okay...he's not using me he said it himself. And it took me three weeks to finally say yes. I don't think he'd keep trying that long"
I said. Mark scoffed and covered his face.
"I don't understand how this is bad...? It was gonna happen eventually whether it was us or somebody else"
"No it wouldn't. No"
He laughed in annoyance. I frowned.

"I don't even know what to say to you because I'm so pissed off and upset. You hid it from me for so long. And hell you guys..."
His voice trailed off.
"Mark I'm sorry...I don't know what to say"
"Were you ever going to tell me?"
"Eventually...I just didn't know how because everything's been stressing me out lately"
I ran my fingers through my hair. He scoffed and rubbed his neck.
"So let me get this straight. He went after you for 3 weeks. You said yes because...?"
"He was annoying me. It was supposed to be one date but...my hate turned into feelings for him and we went on more dates"
"Oh god"
He groaned.
"So you go on multiple dates...you have sex with him. What the fuck Quinn? What else did you do, tell him everything we do to keep the team going?"
He raised his voice.
"Mark calm down please"
I said quietly.
"Don't tell me to calm down Quinn. Tell me the truth, did you?"
"Yes, but he promised he wouldn't tell them anything"
"Oh my fucking- I can't..."
He ran his fingers through his hair.

He was angry. He was upset. He was stressed.

He took off his hat and whipped it at the fence in anger.
"Mark..."
I grabbed his arm. He pushed me.
"Get the hell off me"
"What the hell is wrong with you?"
I said.
"Don't...just stay away from me"
"Mark please I'm so sorry. You know how much I need you right now, please don't do this"
"Why don't you talk to your boyfriend? Have you ever thought of that instead of playing with my feelings?"
"What are you talking about, you're my best friend"
He scoffed.
"Quinn, I was in love with you. But you just tossed my feelings around and now this? Don't talk to me ever again. Don't even think about me"
I didn't bother to respond. Those words kept playing in my mind. I nodded as tears began streaming down my face.

This day couldn't get any worse. But it did.
