The clear, bubbling stream reflects the moon's light

The smell of mud fills the air

As the duck splashes loudly in the quiet pond

The deer lifts its head at the taste of rain

The flowers bloom and blossom to life

This is spring.

The waters of the stream slow lazily

The deer bends down and laps at its waters

The trees, tall and proud, clothed with nature's green gown

The birds sing their tune so merrily

And the fish plummets down and plays in the lake

This is summer.

The stream, now it cools and speeds up

The trees shed their leaves of red and gold

The deer grows its fur thick and prepares for cold

A rabbit hops by, leaves crackling underfoot

The squirrel chatters and climbs high, acorn clutched in his maw

This is fall.

The stream, now it runs no more

Frozen in a glory of ice and cold

The white blanket of snow, only broken by tracks

The trees now glisten, cloaked in ice

Harboring those brave to stay

This is winter.

The stream, it cycles through warm and cold

The trees don their green and shed their gold

Snow falls slowly, and then melts into rain

The animals breathe and they live and they die

Nature in balance, unbroken by man

This is our planet.

This is our home.
