"Hey can I come in." Derek stood at my bedroom door, I turned around from my desk and nodded... "Kaden.. I know its-" I cut Derek off "Derek you don't have to talk down to me.", "Well I don't want you sulking in here.", "What am I supposed to do!", "It's been 3 years Kay.", "And he was my father!." I got up off my computer chair and rushed out of my room only for him to grab my arm.. "Our father." He sighed.

~3 Months skip~

Today was the anniversary of my fathers death.. Wouldn't really call it an anniversary, since its not something I want to celebrate. Walking down the corridor it was pretty empty, seeing it was the weekend. Spencer went to visit his mother for the day so I had to find something to occupy me.
....

Getting into my car I heard my phone beep, I looked at it and saw it was Derek. I sighed and tossed my phone in the passenger seat and started up the car. --I had no idea where I was going but I just needed to get away from campus for the day.

I knew Derek was calling for one reason and one reason only, and that was to make sure I wasn't crying in my dorm, and looking at old pictures. I try to fit in with the rest of my family as much as possible, my dad.. I sighed shaking my head before thinking anything further

As I walked around in the mall, I had no real reason to be here but it was the only place I could think of... i looked up at the sign above the store front reading 'Forever 21' , My phone beeped once again. And of course it was Derek.

I sighed and just decided to call him, "Derek what is it?", "Kay this isn't like you to not answer my calls.", "I'm sorry it's just not a good day.", "I know what day it is too Kay, Now don't start doing this to me girl... I'll get the next flight out there.", "Derek I'm completely fine.", "Swear?", "I swear.", "Alright, And stop scaring me like that. Start answering your phone.", "Ok Derek, I'll call you later.", "Bye Kay.", "Bye."

....

Arriving back to campus I saw Spencer's car in the parking lot, I smiled and thought maybe he could cheer me up with one of his lame jokes--They weren't that lame honestly..
... i started to head toward the boys dorms, All I had on my mind really was my dad.. and how Derek told me to basically not start sulking, entering the building, I searched each door looking for his room number, "127, 128... 9." I took in a deep breath patting my shirt down to get the wrinkles out before knocking on Spencer's door it took him a second to answer it-- opening the door I notice he was in his PJ's.. "Kaden, I wasn't.. I mean hey." He smiled, "Hey." I smiled back, "Come in." he opened his door a bit more so I could walk in, I finally realized why he didn't like his roommate so much.. Judging by the different similarities. "Wow your roommate is-", "A disaster I know." He joked, "I was going to say messy but disaster works." I chuckled, sitting down on his bed...

It's been a few hours and I was still in Spencer's dorm, I was right about the cheering up part.. I felt better than ever. "So how was seeing your mom?" I looked up at Spencer, "Uh it was alright" He sighed, "Something wrong?", "They think she's getting worse.", "They think, aren't they professionals?", "I thought they were, I kind of said that when I was 10, Kaden what if she forgets who I am.", "Spencer that wont happen, You've been there for her.. She loves you too much to forget you." I pulled him into a hug hearing him sniffle a bit, "It's gonna be ok Spence."
...

The sound of thugs, and my basketballs bouncing on the ground was all you could hear in the streets of Chicago.... As I went to make a shot, it missed. "You aren't bending your wrist right."... I turned around and saw Derek. "Kaden, We have to talk about this.", "Nothing to talk about it." I sighed, "You're my little sister, and I'm hear to listen when ever you need me, and right now you need me.", "Derek! you wanna listen, here's something to listen about... Ever since dad died you've been acting up, I've been in my room trying to get into a good college and you think running the streets like a thug is gonna get you a future ." I hissed, "Don't turn this on me.", "You said you wanted to listen." I once again walked passed him nudging him as I did.
"Kaden!.", "Leave me alone."

My eyes fluttered opened, I heard the sound of soft snoring in my ear... Did I fall asleep in Spencer's bed??.. I sat up and saw him next to me, He looked so peaceful--I didn't want to wake him. I slowly got off the bed, I felt Spencer grab my arm, "Spence?", "Please don't go." His voice was raspy and I sighed laying back down onto his bed "I'll stay as long as you want." I looked over at him seeing this was probably the best sleep he's had in awhile, he laid his head back down on the pillow— wrapping his arm around me, I was surprised at first but I didn't mind it. I pulled him closer into me playing with the ends of his hair.

The next morning I heard Spencer on the phone, I opened my eyes I should see him by his computer desk... "Well can you do anything for her?", I guess he was talking to his mothers doctors.. I got up he turned around and smiled at me, His smile was faint but it'll do. I pulled my hair up in a bun as Spencer finally got off the phone. "You ok?" I looked at Spencer, "Trying to be." He sighed, I walked over to him patting his shoulder "Hey everything will be fine I promise.", "Kaden i'm so glad I met you.", "Spence." I felt my face heat up, "I'm glad I met you too." I smiled, "Without you I'd probably be a mess Kay.", "I think you're doing just fine.", Spencer stood up and returned the hug I gave him last night. I pulled away, I looked at him longer than I normally would... "Spence..", "Not sure what this is, but I kind of like it." He chuckled, "It's different." I smiled, " I need to ask you something Kaden.."

A/n: So yeah thats part two :DD so this had more memories of Kaden. Thanks guys for some positive feed back so far. I'll probably be doing two more parts and thats it for this chapter before I do a skip to the future :DD Alight vote, comment idk follow :D
