She was cursed to have her mind open. She is susceptible to possession, mind control, hypnosis, etc. and while she does have the capability to fight off any ghost that possesses her, that doesn't stop them from trying, because of how easy it is to possess her.
The "upside" is she has her own little defense mechanism, that doesn't help that much. Whenever she bleeds, she falls unconscious. However, if a ghost is currently possessing her, they can 'wake' her.
