Chapter 9

Friday came by faster than I anticipated. The cafeteria was set up for the auction. There was a ramp set up in middle of the cafeteria. Tables and chairs were set up all around it.

"So Faith how do you feel about being in the auction ?" Cory asked me in the girl's bathroom.

"I don't know. I didn't even want to be a part of it in the first place" I shrugged.

"Of course she  wouldn't what to be part of the auction cause no one would bid on her." Macy said coming out on of the stalls.

"You bi—" but I pulled Cory back before she would do something she regretted.

"Let her be. Tell me are you too in the auction?"

"Yup!"

"Wait does Damon known ?! Cause he'll flip otherwise."

"He doesn't and I intend to keep it like that."

Damon was overprotective of Cory just the way Alex was of me. When Cory had her first kiss , Damon had sent the poor guy back with a black eye and broken nose.

Today I was wearing a cute summer dress. It wasn't anything special but I won't say it was ugly.

Time flew by and it was already time for the auction. I met with Connor back stage, he was pretty stressed.

The boys were going on first for some apparent reason Chris, Alex and Damon weren't participating.

"You're going on stage wearing....that sack?!" Macy asked me while her minions snickered.

Macy was wearing tight booty shorts and a revealing crop tank top. Her face was caked with makeup and don't even get me started on the shoes. Honestly she looked like a hooker.

"Yup! you have any problem ?"

"Actually I do. May be I can sex it up for you a bit"saying this she ripped open the front of my dress revealing my bra. I didn't even have words for what she did.

Somewhere in the distance, I heard Connor yell.

"Girls you guys have 15 minutes before you go up."

"Shit, Faith what happened to you ?!" Cory said coming in front of me.

"Macy happened."

"I should have killed that bitch the minute-"

"Cory we don't have time for this. Help me fix it !"

Both of us rushed to the nearest girl's bathroom. Cory tried everything, but  nothing was helping.

"What do I do" How can I help !!" Cory cried out.

"It's Okay. I'll just tell Connor I fell sick." I sighed and was about to go out when this new girl entered the bathroom.

"On my god ! What happened to you ?!"

"Long story" I muttered.

"Can you fix it ?" Cory asked with hopeful eyes.

"I can try."

The girl came and examined the rip. Then she took out a little kit from her bag and started working on it. She cut in different ways and sewed some parts together. Then she made a few strings out of the threads and tied them together making a lace pattern.

By the end of it, the front part of my dress had a shoe-lace kind pattern with a bow on top. It looked as good as new.

"On my Lord ! How did you do that !" Cory asked shocked.

I was personally shocked too.

"I'm really into fashion designing and dress making" the girl gushed turning red.

"How come I've never seen you before ? I asked her.

"I'm new. I just joint today."

"I'm faith and that's Cory," I said introducing us.

"I'm Vanessa."

"Well Vanessa you are officially our new best friend Cory said looping her hand with Vanessa's and I did the same.

We made just in time for our chance. Vanessa sat on the table with Chris, Damon, Alex and Sam. Cameron, Blake, Luke and Trevor sat on the next table. When Cory went on stage I peeked from behind for Damon and Alex's reaction.

It was priceless. Damon was shocked beyond words, so was Alex but he recovered before and started grinning like a maniac.

' $200" some random guy yelled.

"$300," Damon said through gritted teeth.

The bid went up and up till some random guy yelled out 900 dollars. 

Damon looked defeated,  Oddly Alex hadn't raised his paddle even once.

"Sold to no. 35 for 900......" but before Conner could complete the sentence Alex cut him off "1200 dollars" Alex said calmly.

No one spoke a single word. Everyone was too shocked.

"Sold to no. 12 for 1200 dollars. Going once, twice and sold."

Cory went and sat next to Alex with a scowl on her face. Alex whispered something in her ear and the scowl on her face deepened. Macy went after me and someone bought her for 1400 dollars. Our school  was a private one that meant that most of the people who went here were pretty rich.

Soon it was my turn. I took a deep breath and walked down the ramp with a big smile on my face. Once I reached the end. I blow a kiss to the audience.

The entire cafeteria started chanting. But once the price reached 1600 only three people were competing. Alex, Damon and Chris were kind of having a face-off.

"1700" Damon said glaring at Alex.

"1800" Chris said glaring at Damon.

"2000" Alex spoke glaring at Chris.

I rolled my eyes. Boys and their stupid ego.

"2200" Chris said.

"2400" Alex replied.

"2700" Chris said in a tone that meant he was so winning it.

"3000" Alex replied in a tone which meant he'd already won.
No one spoke after that.

"Sorry, Alex but you can't win Faith because you already have Cory. So Faith is sold for 2700 dollars to Christopher woods. Faith please take your seat next to Chris."

After Conner was done I made my way towards Chris. The smirk on his face was enough to tell me I was in deep trouble.

"Oh boy" I muttered before taking my seat.
