Last Day of School

(Emma's POV)

My ring tone fills the room, and startles me awake. I squint at the time on my alarm clock. 6:26. You've got to be kidding me...

"Ugh, Emma answer your phone," Anna whines, and hides further under her covers. She's a morning person, but even for her half past 6 is too early apparently. No one ever texts, let alone calls me before 8 am. I reach out for my phone and slide to answer it.

"Hello?" I ask groggily, keeping my eyes closed as I lean back into my pillow.

"Wake up, it's the last day!" Lily complains through the phone.

"Yeah, so? That means I can't sleep why?"

"It's senior prank day. Get your ass up, and out the door. We have work to do," she informs me.

"Since when have we had a prank?" I groan and sit up in bed knowing I won't get out of this. A little heads up is all I ask Lily.

"It's Victor's plan, and it's good trust me. He's driving me now. Catch the next bus, and I'll explain everything when you get here. See ya," she hangs up on me before I can really protest.

I swing my legs over the bed, and stretch. I try to ignore the inadequate 5 hours of sleep as I got last night and trail into the bathroom to get ready. I hope this thing is on my Sociology teacher...that would make this all worth it.

I race down the street but still manage to just miss the bus. The next bus is only a 15 minute wait, but it's just the thought that I could have slept for an extra 15 minutes and get there at the same time. An opportunity truly lost.

The bus comes by, and I get to school just past 7:10. That gives us an hour and half until school, and probably 15 minutes less than that before most teachers get here. I pull out my phone as I walk towards the school doors.

Ok I'm here, where are you? - Emma

In the math wing – Lily

The math wing? Oh no. They aren't trying to prank Killian are they? They have to know that won't end well, he's the strictest teacher here.

When I walk into the school the whole entry way hallway is full of sticky notes, lined wall to wall. It looks like a fluorescent rainbow threw up in our school entrance. I spot one of the culprits finishing up the corner of the last wall.

"Hey Emma, you're pranking too?" Leroy asks when he spots me. He's a fellow senior, but he has a pretty tight knit group of friends so we haven't really talked much. I'm almost surprised he knows my name.

"Yeah I've been called to duty," I joke. "Why the sticky notes?" I ask admiring his meticulous work. There really isn't a single spot missed.

"Why not, it's a classic," he laughs, and steps back to see the final product. "Who are you pranking?"

"Not sure, I'm just the help, but I think it's Mr. Jones,"

"Wow, risky. I like it. Need help? I'm done here,"

"Yeah I guess, everyone is upstairs," I say and we walk the empty halls. We make our way up to the math hall. We see more seniors running around and messing things up as we walk along. Everyone is so care free, and happy for it being so early in the morning. I guess it being the last day they'll ever need to step foot in this place is reason enough to be happy.

I spot Lily, and Victor outside of Killian's class and it looks like Victor is trying to pick the lock on the door. Great.

"You guys really think pranking Mr. Jones it the best idea?" I ask catching their attention. I sure don't. Why can't we prank my sociology teacher like I suggested?
