"Right."

The bell rings.

"We should get to class!"

Lily exclaims.

"I- I don't have a class until next period."

"Oh, right. Well see you next period."

"Sure."

She walks away giggling with the rest of her friends. They whisper things into her ear as they look back at me. What the hell was that?

"She's all whopped over you."

Marie's voice says behind me. I turn back to face her.

"What?"

My jaw drops.

"She likes you. I thought it was pretty obvious.'

I laugh a bit .

"Next joke please."

"It's not a joke!"

Marie hits my shoulder.

"Wait, you're being serious?"

"Dead serious. She's practically told everyone hoping you'd hear."

"Oh."

My cheeks flush. If only she knew.

"You should ask her out?"

"No!"

"Why?"

"Because I don't want to?"

"Are you going to tell her that you're not interested in her?"

"Uh no."

"So you're just going to lead her on?"

"I never led her on in the first place?"

The late bell rings and Marie leaves, clearly annoyed that I didn't want her friend.

The halls are empty now. I go to where my locker is at to go put my books inside.

14...15...16...17.

A dark figure at the end of the row of lockers catches my eye.

Harry.

My eyes widen just by the sight of him. He's leaning against the last locker, facing me.

"Sorry if I came out as a bit rude on Friday."

"A bit?"

"You're just lucky I'm apologizing."

"Then you shouldn't have been a dick in the first place."

"Me? A dick?"

He's being sarcastic as he points his finger to his chest.

I roll my eyes and open my locker. Harry doesn't move.

"Why are you here?"

"Well I have to go to school don't I?"

"Is it 'sarcastic Monday' or something?"

"That's a really bad come back."

He softly hits the back of his head against the locker as he laughs.

"Are you going to answer my question or not?"

"My locker is across from yours."

"No it's not."

"By across I mean it's connected to yours."

"Oh."

I turn to look at him but he's gone. I look back to my locker and I jump.
