'mom i am home!!" manik informed while entering in the house and plopping on the sofa. Nyonika came quickly with a glass of water and handed it to manik. He drank while she caressed his hair.

"dad aur mukti kaha hain?" he asked.
"mukti is in her room, and your dad is in study, attending some phone calls" she informed ,smiling.
"oh ok! Aur nandini ni dikh rahi? Is she upstairs?" he asked.
"ni beta...she is still not home" neyonika replied casually, trying to mask her worry "kaam hoga office mein...may be that's why she has not arrived yet"
Manik looked at his watch, then spoke , worry colouring his tone, "mom its 8:30...nandini toh usually 7 :00 tak aajati hai" . then he took out his phone and found it to be switched off
"damn!! When did this phone went off...nandini might have called !"
"relax beta! Ajaegi...she must be stuck somewhere..i thought tumhe btaya hoga usne that's why i was relaxed. wait i will just ring her up" saying this neyonika got up to look for her phone but just then the door bell rang. As a staff opened the door, nandini came in. She smiled at neyonika but ignored manik. On the other hand, manik sighed in relief and closed his eyes and thanked god for keeping her safe. He didn't notice that nandini did not spare him a look , even.

"beta, tum theek ho??" neyonika asked nandini.
"yes maa...actually today an old friend turned up at my office, so we had our dinner in a restraunt. That's why i got late today!"
"that is ok, beta...but tumhe ek call kar dena chahya tha" neyonika said slightly angry.
Nandini realised that this was the first time she was not on time and neyonika must have got worried, but in her excitement and happiness, nandini forgot to inform anyone.
"i am sorry maa...i am really sorry! I promise next time asa ni hoga!"
Nandini spoke holding neyonika's palm. Neyonika smiled knowing that nandini must not have done this intentionally.
