"Well it took you long enough," I joked, and before I could change my mind, I grabbed her head and brought it closer to me, her lips millimeters from mine. I didn't kiss her, just stared into her eyes, bright and glassy.

"You- you forgive me?" Jade asked incredulously. I chuckled and nodded.

"I couldn't very well not, after such a sweet apology," I teased. She slowly broke into a grin and continued to stare into my eyes.

"Will you be my girlfriend again?" she asked, biting her lip.

"I'd be honoured," I said, raising an amused eyebrow at her. Her smile got even wider.

"I love you," she whispered, her lip grazing mine.

"I love you too."

"Forever and always?"

I chuckled. "Forever and always," I confirmed. We stared at each other, idiotic smiles plastered on our faces.

"So, can I kiss you now, or . . ."

I laughed, glancing at the ceiling. "Yes, Jade, that is allowed."

As soon as the words left my tongue, she closed the distance between us, her lips molding onto mine. The butterflies were back, stronger than before. My insides were doing somersaults and my heart just about leapt from my chest.

Finally, after at least two full minutes of straight making out, Jade pulled away, smiling.

"I missed that," she said breathlessly, pecking my lips again. I grinned and kissed her cheek.

"Eh," I teased, turning away and looking at the couch cushion.

"Eh?" she questioned, "I don't think so." Using her index finger, she tilted my chin towards her again. I met her gaze, eyes twinkling. I smiled and this time it was me who leaned in, my lips finding hers. I propped myself up on my elbows so now my head was slightly above hers, as she was cross-legged next to the couch I was on.

After several more minutes of just kissing, I finally pulled away long enough to give her a huge hug. She laughed and pulled me off the couch, making me fall into her lap. I giggled and got comfortable in her arms, enjoying the safe and protected feeling she gave me.

"Do you know how hard these last few days have been?" Jade asked, stroking my cheek with her thumb.

I rolled my eyes. "You're telling' me. How do you think I felt?"

She winced. "I'm sorry," she whispered, her expression downcast again.

"Hey," I said, tilting her mouth towards mine. "We're okay now," I continued, my lips grazing hers as I spoke. I kissed her again, wrapping my arms around her neck. She eventually gave in and kissed back, her arms automatically linking around my waist.

After we pulled away, we just sat there and talked, on the floor of the dressing room. At one point, she was twirling her hair around her finger when I saw a flash of silver on her finger. I stopped her hand and brought it closer.

"Is this-"

"Yeah."

I stared at it for the longest time, my mind whirling. "Why were you wearing it?"

She shrugged. "I'll always love you, even if you don't feel the same."

I gave her a funny look. "But I do feel the same."

She giggled, kissing my hair. "Then I guess it belongs to you." She slipped it off her finger and lifted my hair, removing the chain. She looped the ring back through it and adjusted the clasp.
