Prologue:A Girl And Her Pig

Lukas sat next to the pond,watching the other boys running around.He didn't like them.He didn't like how they pulled the girls hair and stole their toys and ripped their dresses.He didn't like anything they did.

"Hi!"

Lukas looked to his right and saw a girl standing there.She had long,black hair,tied into two pigtails.She was wearing a red and white striped t-shirt,shorts,knee high socks,and a little yellow hair clip.

"Hi"Lukas sighed.

"Why aren't you playing with the other boys?"the girl asked.

"I don't like them.They're mean to girls!"Lukas answered.

"I hate them!They make fun of us"the girl exclaimed.

"Us?"Lukas asked.

"Yeah!Us"the girl answered.

Suddenly,a tiny pig walked out from behind her legs.

"This is Rueben!"the girl said,picking him up.

"Say hi,Rueben!"

The pig oinked at Lukas.

"What's your name?"the girl asked.

"Lukas!"

"Lukas?That's a nice name!I'm Jesse!"

"Isn't that a boys name?"Lukas asked.

Jesse put Rueben back on the ground and crossed her arms.

"It's not just a boys name!"she mumbled.

"I think it's a cool name!"Lukas said,smiling.

"Really?Everyone else just calls me a boy!"Jesse replied.

"Is that because you aren't wearing a dress?"Lukas asked.

"Yeah,but dresses aren't comfy!They're really annoying and uncomfortable!"Jesse answered.

"Girls shouldn't wear skirts all the time.What about when they run,or when they climb trees?It must be hard to wear them all the time"Lukas said.

"I don't know.I don't wear skirts anymore"Jesse replied.

"Really?"Lukas asked.

"Yes.My mommy and daddy don't mind,they said they didn't want me to wear skirts"Jesse answered.

"Do you wanna play a game?"Lukas asked.

"Sure!What game?"Jesse asked.

"How about...........an adventure!I wanna be Soren!"Lukas answered.

"I wanna be Gabriel!"Jesse exclaimed.

"And Rueben can be................our horse!"Lukas said.

"C'mon,let'g go!"
