Meeting Him: Kanato

You walked out of the bathroom rubbing your eyes and walking into an empty classroom, this was the 5th time today that you had been bullied just because you were carrying bunny with you, who was bunny? Why your stuffed rabbit toy of course, she was your best friend and she was the only one who listened to you and understood all your troubles and issues she was a good friend despite being your only friend.

You started crying again once you closed the door, you sat in the corner of the room and cried into your best friend, after a few minuets you heard the door open slowly and you saw someone peek their head in but you didn't care you just kept crying.

You felt someone walk over to you after closing the door and kneeling down in front of you, you looked up to see a boy with purple hair and eyes and holding on tightly to a stuffed teddy bear, he was looking at you concerned,

''Whats that Teddie? I don't know why such a pretty girl is crying... yeah she is cute oh you mean the bunny yeah she's cute too'' you looked to the boy talk to his Teddy bear and giggled a little, you wiped away your tears and turned to bunny,

''hey bunny, those boys are staring at us what should we do? Talk to them... um okay you know I'm not good at that but I'll give it a shot'' you looked up to the boy again who was staring at you with a smile on his face,

''My names Kanato and this is Teddie'' he said holding out the bear you smiled and nodded your head trying to think about what it was that you wanted to say to him since you weren't the best with talking to people other than bunny.

''Um I'm (y/n) and this is my friend bunny, its nice to meet you Kanato and Teddie'' you said as you made bunny and Teddie shake hands, you giggled and sat bunny down, Kanato sat Teddie down next to her so they could have their own conversation together before turning to face you again with a slightly concerned look on his face,

''hey (y/n)-chan? Why were you crying a little bit ago did something happen to make you upset?'' as he said that the things that were said to you not that long ago came flooding back to you but you forced yourself not to cry and looked straight at Kanato.

''Its just that people were saying that I'm a big baby and that I need to learn to grow up, just because I always have bunny with me, but I cant leave her behind she would get lonely without me and I know that I would be lonely without her too'' you closed your eyes expecting to be laughed at but instead you felt a cold hand on your shoulder you opened your eyes again to see Kanato staring at you with a soft smile,

''I know how you feel me and Teddie are just as close as you and bunny, I get picked on too but all you have to do is ignore the worthless mortals jealous shouts and you can get past anything, its hard to do yeah but if you have a friend with you the whole time it will be a lot easier on you. I bet it if bunny had a friend with her it would also be easier on her too, so how about we all become friends it looks like bunny and Teddie are friends already'' he chuckled as he looked down to the two stuffed animals they had both fallen over and now it looked like they were hugging one another.

 You looked to them and smiled as did Kanato when the bell went for final period, you looked to one another and picked up your toys before leaving the class together,

''what are you in next Kanato-kun?'' you asked as you walked down the hall together, 

''economics, I love sweet food but I'm not the best at cooking I think my class is getting mixed up with another class today though'' you looked to him smiling a little,

''hey so is my economics class, we might end up in the same class Kanato-kun!'' Kanato turned to you with a bright smile on his face as you entered your respective classes.

5 minuets later you were standing next to Kanato with a recipe in from of you on how to make a raspberry pavlova. You ended up in the same class after all and you were even put together as partners, Teddie and Bunny were on the stools together watching you both talk and laugh with one another to make the pavlova, your teachers looked over to you both with smiles on their faces,

They had never seen either you or Kanato smiling, talking or working as hard with another person before as you were with each other and they both felt a wave of releif knowing that if you were friendly with each other like this you wouldn't have to worry about the bullies any more. 

At the end of the period the teacher tasted a little of everyone's pavlova and awarded both you and Kanato an A+ because not only was your the best in the class but you had both come out of your comfort zones and worked hard together to make it the best, you both smiled and sat down on the stools with bunny and Teddie eating half of your pavlova each, the teacher was right it was really good!

You always knew you were a good baker but it tasted even better today why was that? You thought about it but then a thought came to mind it was probably because you had, had fun making it with your new friend and even though you still were new to the whole friend thing outside of bunny you knew that being friends with Kanato would change that, and that made you happy.
