           DOM

My cheeks were on fire. God knows I love my readers but sometimes I just want to run away from them. Most of their questions were completely inappropriate—so inappropriate that I blush. I’m a person that blushes once a year and they have me blushing every five minutes with their questions. The worst part was that they were all seated and I had a microphone in front of me so they all saw and heard what was going on. This was a signing for God’s sakes not a Q and A. Even if it was a Q and A the questions are supposed to be about the books not my sex life.

“I read online that Orion didn’t talk to you for a whole week because you killed off his favorite character.”

I couldn’t help but laugh, as painful as the memory was. “It’s partially true.”

“Then what’s the full story?” Oh Jesus. Why was I blessed with this curse of having fan girls as actual fans?

“ I was on severe punishment. I didn’t realize how much he babied me until he wasn’t. It was all in good fun though,” I explained, trying to be as vague as possible. Kiera, whose book I just signed should step out of line so that the person behind her could get his book signed.

“I don’t know how you deal with them,” he commented. His cheeks were as red as I thought mine looked.

“A bottle of bourbon when I get home.” He laughed. “What’s your name?”

“It’s actually Jason but everyone calls me Jay. Is it true that you’re writing a book about how you guys met and fell in love?”

“Yeah, that’s true. If everything goes great it should be released in four months.”

“Oh sweet! I’m straight but I’ll definitely purchase it and read it. I’m such a big fan!”

“That means a lot, thank you.” He nodded as I handed his book back, tucking it under his left arm to hold is right hand out for me to shake. I felt honored and I gladly shook it.

For a while my fans weren’t as chatty as the first batch. We had small conversations about the book itself and other upcoming sequels or prequels they were curious about. Then I met a beautiful blue-eyed girl with long black hair. I could tell right away that she was a shy one. I barely heard her whispered answer when I asked her her name, which was Selene. I tried to get her to talk to me but her answers were nods and headshakes. She reached for the signed book but every time she was about to grasp it I took it back. I got her to smile eventually and when I did I cheered and gave the book to her.

She stood next to the desk for a while before she turned and looked at me. “Can I ask you something? It’s kind of personal.”

“I don’t see why not. Everyone else is and I like you better than them so shoot.”  Two points for Dominic Valentine! I got her to smile again!

“Did you propose to your husband or did he propose to you?”

I didn’t have to think about the answer. It was one of my favorite memories. “I asked him to marry me. It was kind of the spur of the moment thing and I didn’t have a ring. He gave me a ring in our kitchen the next day and asked me to marry him too.” Of course they all cooed and awed while I gave them the blank face. I was blushing underneath that though.

            “How did it happen?”

“Why don’t you ask him yourself?” I suggested, nodding to the entrance where Rye just walked in with the twins, who turned two last week, holding on to his hands. The whole fucking place went crazy. I swear they loved him more than they loved me. Even the parents that were with their younger children were cheering after him. Even the kids had their own fan club.
