The Things I Notice

I often glance around the room

And see what others may have looked over

Like

How the quietest girl has a full playlist of rock 'n' roll on her phone

Or the sarcastic jerk writes down beautiful words when he thinks nobody can see

And that the princess bites her nails to the point of bloody stubs

Does anyone else watch the teacher periodically text his teenage daughter with a frightful face?

What about when the football player holds hands with the school freak under the table?

I see the disappointment on smartest student's face when he tries to hind his D+

The slut apply makeup to her busted lip and text her boyfriend back as soon as her phone shakes

And the happiest boy walk as slow as possible away from school and back to his home

I notice the way the burnout slides further down in his seat in the back when an answer is needed

How the youngest out of all of us taps their pencil along to an inaudible song we can't hear

Or when you pull at your hoodie's sleeves to hind your hands

I also see how the girl in the corner sneaks pills and wiggles around in her already too tight clothes

And how the girl next to her can barely keep her jeans on with such a tiny figure and narrow hips

The holes in your jeans give away a lot too

It shows your bloody knees from that older senior knocking you to the cement after the bell

The glitter on you neck tells me that you and your girlfriend hooked up prior to class

And the smile on your face tells me you're happier with her then you've ever been before

I think people misunderstand me when I gaze around the room

I'm not upset nor I am lonely

I am plainly taking in all the aspects of people that you don't care to look at

Seeing people for what they actually are, not how they appear to be

Actions truly speak louder then words

And everyone around me is like a amplifier

I tune in for a listen and raise the volume

Taking apart the lyrics piece by piece

Just as I tear away the layers of everyone's fake disguise

You are more then the stereotypes people give you

And you're not what they say you are

Your true self is hidden in the actions that only I pick up on

So, I guess you could say

I noticed

This is my second poem book, and I'm hoping it does as good as the first. Anyone notice the relation between the first book and the second? Anyway, please read, vote, comment and follow for more.
