Harry is sitting in the library studying one afternoon, and when he reaches to pick up his quill, he knocks over a stack of parchment. He bends down to pick them cursing his clumsiness, grabbing the few that landed under the table when he looks up and sees a heart had been carved into the bottom of the tabletop. It read
'James + Lily for eternity'
Harry's eyes began to well up and a few tears came out as he sat under the table. Hermione and Ron always wondered why Harry ALWAYS sat at that table, no exceptions.
After the battle, Harry sees that the library was untouched by the chaos and violence, he walks over to the table and summons a knife, carving a new heart, next to the old one, inside he carved
'Harry + Ginny always and forever.'
