The marauders always had a special cart on the Hogwarts express, they sat there every year, no exceptions, in seventh year Lily joined them, but otherwise no one out side of the group sat there. They all had carved their initials somewhere, under the seats or something of the sort. This cart is the very cart that Lupin sat in when he first met the golden trio, because he had never gone to Hogwarts in any other cart.
