Blood.
So much blood, everywhere.
Why is there so much blood?
All I can see is blood, blood, blood, and my mom's petrified face, mouth open in a scream never heard. Her phone is still in her hand, her finger hovering over the Call button. There are only three numbers typed in. 9-1-1.
My scream finally stops, and I drop to my knees.
"Mom," I choke, my fingers hovering over her body. Her clothes are stained red, so is her hair.
"Don't be dead, don't be dead," I cry. I check for a pulse, but find nothing.
Sobbing, I pick up her phone, knowing that this is pointless. She's already gone. But I can't stop myself from tapping the Call button, and brining the phone up to my ear.
"911 what is your emergency?" A pleasant female voice asks on the other side of the line. I hesitate for a second, how do I say what I want to say.
"Hello?" The woman asks.
"My-my mom was m-murdered," I say, my voice cold. "By Edgar Livingston."
The phone drops from my hand. I don't even remember hanging up, but somehow the call has ended. I don't hear a sound as the phone crashes against the tile, shattering. It's almost like saying it made it truly sink in. I don't feel the pain as the glass from the broken screen digs into my knee. I'm numb.
In an almost trance like state, I move to where I dropped the time machine. Selecting the year 1912, I leave everything behind.

I know something is wrong before my vision clears. And when it does, my suspicions are confirmed. The attic is empty.
A/N so yes, I know, this is super short, but I really liked that ending. I'm trying to find time to update a lot, but I'm still touring Italy so it's kinda hard. Also, if there's anything you think I should change, or any suggestions for plot development that you have, just comment below please!
