I stumble backwards a step and run into the back door. Jessie drops her arms to her sides, gaping. She clearly was not expecting an answer like this. She probably though it would be something like Cassie made a couple break up, or Cassie had diaries about us expressing what she hated about us, not Cassie tried to kill someone

"Why?"  I gasp. Andrea us shaking her head back and forth.

"I don't know." She says,

"How did Cassie try to kill Bellamy?"

"When did this happen?"

"Where did this happen." The questions come quickly, overlapping each other and mixing together. Andrea puts a hand up to silence the three of us.

"If you all shut up, I'll you when, where, and how this happened." she says.

"But I wanna look for the time machine." Tess protests.

"Fine," I say, grabbing her camera from her, " you can go look. We have some questioning to do." I glare at Andrea when I say this.

Tess makes a pouty face,

"Fine, I'll look for a time machine by myself." Tess stalks off to the front of the house, probably to pick the lock or something. Once Tess is gone, I point the camera at Andrea.

"Now," I say, "tell us everything."

Andrea sighs, "okay." she says. She pushes her hair out of her face before continuing.

"It was about two years ago, before Cassie disappeared. We were all 13 or 14. During Cassie's sleepover party, you know the one where we threw streamers all over the house?" When we nod, she keeps talking, "all three of you were asleep. It was like, 2:30 in the morning, and I got up to get a drink if water. I heard shouting out behind Cassie's house, so I went to see what was happening. Bellamy and Cassie were out in yard, they were shouting at each other. Cassie was upset about something, like, really upset. I don't know why though. All I know is that Cassie suddenly had a rock in her hand. She- she hit Bellamy with it, and Bellamy was knocked out. And- and, and then there was a knife. Cassie had a knife. She-she stabbed Bellamy, in the stomach. Bellamy was bleeding. Oh my god, there was so much blood. Blood was everywhere, even on Cassie. On her hands and her shirt. And-and, I tried to tell her to stop, but she didn't hear me. I- I ran out into the yard, and I had to hold her back." There are tears pouring down Andrea's face now, "she was trying to cut Bellamy's throat. I- I stopped her but there was so much blood. I don't know how Bellamy lived." Andrea finishes, sobbing. Jessie envelopes her in a hug until she calms down.

"Why didn't you ever tell anyone about this?" I ask.

"I wanted to believe that if I never talked about it, it would go away." Andrea says.

"Bellamy wasn't in school for a couple weeks after that night." Jessie says, the realization dawning on her.

"She must have been in the hospital!" I say. Suddenly, there's a loud crash and a bang from inside the house. Then Tess's voice calls out,

"Guys! I think I found the time machine!"
