"Tess!" I scream, and sprint back into the living room, it's empty.
"Tess." I say again, turning in a slow circle. I close my eyes and count to ten, but when I open them again Tess hasn't reappeared.
"How-how did she do that?" Andrea gapes. I shake my head, just as confused as she is.
"I don't know." I say.
"What do we do?" Jessie asks, sitting down on the couch, "do we wait for her to come back, or do we go to Andrea's house?"
"We should-" I start to say, but I'm interrupted by a whistle as Andrea gets a text. She pulls her phone out, and stares silently at the screen.
"Who is it?" Jessie asks, leaning over Andrea's shoulder.
"It's-it's Tess!" Andrea exclaims. I rush to her side and peer at the small screen.
"Well? What does it say?" I demand.
"It just says 'testing testing, did you get this?'"
"well say yes!" Jessie and I scream at the same time. Andrea types yes and sends the message. Now to see if Tess get's our text. She does, and her only reply is a smiley face emoji. Of course.

We all wait for Tess to reappear. Nothing happens.
Nvm. idk how to make it work Tess ends her text with a scared face emoji.
"Tell her we're going to your house." I say to Andrea as I start to stand up. Andrea types in the message, the follows me outside.
I climb into the drivers seat, and Andrea rides shotgun. Jessie refuses to sit in the back and miss what Tess is texting, so she ends up cramming herself in between our seats. Andrea keeps texting Tess as I drive to her house. Jessie shift slightly, and her elbow digs into my side.
"Put you elbows somewhere else" I sigh.
"My elbows can go wherever they want to go, it's a free country." Jessie says jokingly.
"Well then I can ship them to Timbuktu and then they wont be free." I retort.
"Then I'll buy knew ones and-" Jessie starts to say, before Andrea interrupts her.
"Guys, you should see this." Jessie leans over to look.
"What does it say?" I ask, "I can't read it right now, I'm driving!"
"It says 'just saw Cassie. like, 14 yr old Cassie'"
"What?" I slam on the brakes and Jessie flies forward.
"Ow!" she screams, rubbing her shoulder.
"Sorry." I mutter, reaching over her and grabbing the phone. I read the text, then read it again. The words just saw Cassie stare up at me from the screen.
A horn honks behind me, I snap my head up and check behind me. There's a long line of cars piled up behind us.
"Crap" I say, and take off quickly.
My car rolls into Andrea's driveway, it's 10:55. As I climb out, I spot another car in the driveway, my mom's. Jessie and Andrea scramble out of the car, Jessie rubbing her shoulder with an annoyed look on her face.
"A little warning next time would suffice." she says, irritated.
"I said I was sorry." I say, feigning innocents. The front door burst open, and my mom stomps out.
"Where were you?" she yells, "I was here 15 minutes ago!"
"We went to get coffee, and, um, we got stuck in traffic." I try for a smile.
"Fine, but you're too late to get to soccer practice anyways." my mom sighs. She gets in her car and leaves, exhaust trailing behind her. I lean against the wall while Andrea fishes around in her purse for the keys. Finding them, she unlocks the door and lets us in. The smell of pancakes wafts down through the house, and I can hear Andrea's mom bustling around the kitchen.
Andrea, Jessie, and I all head to the back of the house to the kitchen. Andrea's mom is at the stove, her brown hair piled up atop her head.
"Hello Mrs. Crow." I say politely. Andrea's mom turns around, surprised to see us.
"Oh, hello dears. I was just making breakfast, do you want any pancakes?" she asks.
"Breakfast?" Andrea scoffs, "it's like, almost noon."
"Yes well, you're brother just got up. He's been demanding pancakes the minute he came downstairs." Mrs. Crow says.
Before I can answer the question of whether or I would like pancakes (the answer would be yes), my phone buzzes. At the same time, both Jessie and Andrea's phones ring. We all pull them out, and stare at the screen.
"I-I'm sorry Mrs. Crow, but I have leave, thanks for the offer." I say, stumbling backward and running into the door frame before turning and leaving for the front door. I can hear my friends following me. As I step out into the cool air, I look down at my phone screen again. The text from Tess is one word. Help!
A/n sorry this was mostly dialogue.I wasn't very sure where this chapter was going so I just made them talk a lot. I have rough planes for the next chapter, so it be better than this one. Thanks for understanding;)
