v. roti canai

We don't need a watch to keep up with time

Nor our phones locked up after a decade or two.

All we need are the jokes and the smiles and the laughs,

And a brotherhood formed and stayed strong like glue.

Raise your mugs of Milo up high to the sky,

Drown your roti canai in curry and daal,

Eat up a storm while we catch up on our lives,

Just you and I, bro. Just you and I, pal.

We'll bring up love stories and bitter heartaches

And we'll sing up old, love songs not here from this age,

Then we'll talk about crushes, our targets in sight

And we'll advise each other how to set up the stage.

Then we'll complain to the other how university sucks,

How school offered the days that turned out the best,

How weeks now feel like centuries that refuse to move on,

And every day now brings up possibilities of tests.

Then I'll mumble my jargon of computer technology,

And you shall then mutter of grammatical rules,

But instead of a festering moment of silence,

We'll fight to find out the better of schools.

We'll compare and we'll fight until the sun comes and rises,

And the Milo runs out - the roti canai's digested!

Then we'll run to the cashier, pushing and fighting

Demanding to pay for the other - no question!

And when one party wins (the cashier shakes his head)

We'll exchange our secret handshake back in the day,

Make it an order to always, always stay in contact

And if, otherwise, the other would pay.

A/N: Based on a true story. Though university's an absolutely enjoyable place filled with truly awesome, amazing people, I still can't help but miss those good, old friends from school. They're the best! :)
